Product Highlights
  • Requires Speed Ring

The patented design of the Mola Euro Soft Lite "Beauty Dish" Reflector captures and focuses light with maximum efficiency. It is shaped to intercept all paths of light, no matter which direction they leave the flash tube, and redirect them toward the subject. This is a big improvement on most square boxlights, which can only focus a portion of the light available.

This is the Euro Soft Lite 33.5" model. It has a white reflective surface. Its size is perfect for portraits, and mounts to your strobe head via your Chimera, Photoflex, or other brand Speed Ring -- available separately. Click Here for Speedring Reference Charts

Mola Euro creates an even core of light surrounded by a smoothly graduated feathered edge... about a half a stop difference from the center to outer edge.
The handle combines a stand adapter and a hand grip in one which evenly distributes the weight of the reflector, balancing and stabilizing the reflector solidly over a light stand or boom.
This reflector requires the adapter plate from your Chimera, Photoflex, or other brand of Speed Ring, to fit your light fixture.

Comments about Mola Euro 33.5" "Beauty Dish" Soft Lite Reflector (White):

I acquired this beauty dish (+ opal glass diffuser) recently to use with an Einstein 640 both in studio and on location, and I have been very happy with the soft, rich light this dish can produce with that strobe, especially when stacking the perforated aluminum and opal glass diffusers. It has a definite "sweet spot" that takes some practice to find, but once one gets it dialed in, the results are superb. The size and weight make it a challenge to transport and work with (especially with the glass diffuser). A heavy-duty stand and sandbag are strongly recommended. The quality of light is worth all the hassle, though!

Comments about Mola Euro 33.5" "Beauty Dish" Soft Lite Reflector (White):

Its big and heavy, but the softness its something out of this world.I used to have a Demi which is sharper and has higher output "silver + smaller" but when I tried the Euro specially with male models, the light its just amazing its like a perfect window light.Be sure to have wheels on your stand "bliss to move the Mola" and to get a HMI speedring if your lights overheat like the D1. Its big so its not really that easy to travel but it can be packed in a medium size car without problem. Also remember that you will get lower power output "bigger surface and white color not silver" but as the light source is bigger the inverse square law will deliver more light into your backdrop so If you are working tight you might need a black 20 degree grid. On the other hand if you need to have a background lit at the same time as your model just have them 6 feet from background. If you have a small studio a blackgrid is a must. The catchlights on your models eyes will look a little crazy "circular rings" its the Mola trademark, if you don't want them simply use a grid or white sock.If you dont have a frosted dome or an Opal glass you might need to use the sock without the sock or the opal you cant feather the light you will get harsh light.Another CON is that you cant tilt it down in a tripod as the light its really big so it will not tild beyond 15 degrees. and using a Boom tends to become a problem because its really big and heavy.

Comments about Mola Euro 33.5" "Beauty Dish" Soft Lite Reflector (White):

You Can Take Your Umbrellas And Soft-Boxes And Toss Them In The Trash! From around 1999 to date ( 15+ years ) I have been shooting my studio work with Mola's. I use two 33 inch Euro's with the inside opaque glass as well I use with the white front diffuser fabric. My Mola setup is one on the left and one on the right. With a small regular kicker ( backlight ) for fill. Originally before digital I shoot slow film AGFA APX 25 ASA B&W using my two Mola's at around 60th at f5.6 and let me just say that everyone and I do mean everyone would say wow! When they saw there prints. These are people who make there living in front of the camera who know good photography (Of course my metering is always 100% dead on) So let's fast forward years into the digital age and there still is simply is no comparison to the soft even smooth light that one can achieve with the Mola Euro's. I Feel I should point something out that if anyone reading this may asks the obvious that If I love Mola's so much then why I used umbrellas on Americas Next Top Model. ( Cycle 11 Season Premier- "The Photo Lab Segment" ) The simple answer is I used what the CW network provided for me. I'll wrap up my revue with this. I pretty much have used every kind of high-end lighting there is.. And trust me there is tuns of junk out out there some stuff is very expensive and some extremely cheep but in all my years as a photographer I have never come across any reflector that attaches to a studio strobe that produces more soft even beautiful light as my Mola 33" Euro's. This is why I use them. I hope this review is helpful. -Richard Scudder-

Comments about Mola Euro 33.5" "Beauty Dish" Soft Lite Reflector (White):

We use it with models and brides. It works fantastically, the light output is soft and it also comes with the diffusion sock for more softness. If you want sharper falloff, the silver may be in order. [...] I switched to the Opal glass. Used with Elinchrom lights along with the Chimera speedring.

Comments about Mola Euro 33.5" "Beauty Dish" Soft Lite Reflector (White):

I use it along Profoto Softlight Silver.
Euro is huge and dwarfs Profoto.
Both give very nice light quality. Profoto Silver is way more defined which I like, Mola Euro gives definitely softer look and can be used from a little farther away due to it's size, but remember to still keep it close for the BD look. It gives nice wrap-around light from up-close, reflector is definitely not needed. Also, Mola gives a little warmer light (neither a pro nor con but worth mentioning)
I use Euro 33.5 on location but it's heavy so make sure to secure it well or it'll hit the ground before you know it.
I'd say it's better suited for a studio unless you have strong assistants to bring it on location. I carry it myself for some photo shoots so it can be done but now I'd much rather use smaller 20-22in BD for location work.

Thing I don't like: the brackets provided for speedrings are a little flimsy. I'd like to see something a little more sturdy, but I'm nitpicking.

I'd give it 4.5 stars but there is no option so it gets 4 (due to brackets not being sturdy enough).

Comments about Mola Euro 33.5" "Beauty Dish" Soft Lite Reflector (White):

I use the Euro in my studio attached to a 750 WS monolight. It works well as a key and/or a fill. Without the front diffuser, it delivers beautiful, snappy light with just the right amount of contrast. A wonderful beauty light and general portrait light. With the diffuser on the front, the light is softened somewhat and and is very even edge to edge. When used with the Demi (also with the front diffuser attached) and a large reflector, it makes a great full length portrait or fashion light. Easy to control and smooth. It has replaced my all my soft boxes. The quality of light is what I have been looking for for years.
