Comments about Nikon 12x25 ProStaff ATB Binocular:
Compared right up there with my brother-in-laws Leopold Gold Rings. Close focusing was their only negative. The Gold Rings can focus up to approx 4 feet. Brightness and sharpness of image was just as good from what I could tell. The Prostaff's are a very good product for the price.

Comments about Nikon 12x25 ProStaff ATB Binocular:
This product is great for fishing. I always like taking binoculars when I go fishing. It is great not to have to worry about getting water in them. Nature presents beautiful scenery and animals when I go fishing and this allows me to enjoy the whole picture. They are compact and comfortable on the eyes. They weigh a little more than my Trvelites, but the waterproof seals are worth it. Their size is slightly larger than my Travelites. Great optics and the 12 power is very helpful as my eyes tire easily as I age. B & H has a great price and fast shipping.

Comments about Nikon 12x25 ProStaff ATB Binocular:
The Prostaff 12x25 binocular is a wonderfully sharp, contrasty binocular. It is also brighter than expected. I am really quite surprised at just how bright it is since it is such a high power, small aperture device. It easily passes the 'Jupiter' test - Jupiter shows a well defined, round disk. Eyerelief is excellent. Focusing is precise and convenient. It balances well in the hands and has a nice tactile feel. All in all a keeper - a real winner.

Comments about Nikon 12x25 ProStaff ATB Binocular:
I am planning to take the binoculars on a longer trip to Costa Rica. They will be used at the beach, on a boat and in the tropical rainforest so the main priority was for them to be water and fog proof. Additionally I was looking for a set of small and lightweight yet sturdy glasses as I don't like to be weighed down by heavy equipment on longer hikes and excursions. The Nikon ProStaff ATB binoculars seem to be the ideal solution for these requirements and I am very happy with the purchase and the competitive prize.

After researching for three weeks, I could not get away from the great reviews on these binoculars. I was in the market for compact, lightweight, but with decent magnification. I felt 10x was a little short for my needs. So the 12x25 ProStaff ATB fit the bill.
Bright glass, focuses easily and sharply, and adjustable eye cups for relief.
Would recommend anyone looking for a compact 12x bino to purchase.

Comments about Nikon 12x25 ProStaff ATB Binocular:
Needed small binoculars with decent magnification and it had to be good in low light situations. It also had to be of solid construction. Tall order, but this binocular fit the bill.

Comments about Nikon 12x25 ProStaff ATB Binocular:
Before I got these binoculars, I was a bit concerend about shaking problems that could come with 12x maginification binoculars, but it turned out there were no problems. I spotted and looked at the climbers at Yosemite's El Capitan rock without any problems, I got a perfect sharp image. I watched Blue Angels air show at 2011 San Francisco Fleet Week, I could see pilots inside the cockpits. No shaking problems, AT ALL. These binoculars are built well. They feel solid in my hands. Overall they are very good product with great performance for the price. However, I'm not sure about their durability because they are made in China. But again the price is rather reasonable so I'd be satisfied if they give me five years of good service. I highly recommend these binoculars.

This is a great choice for travel or backpacking. Lightweight with a good grip and feel. Stable image. Eyecups rotate in and out, instead of the fold-back type, which is a nice feature. The collapsed position is good for eyeglass wearers or storage.

Not sure the type of prism but seems clear close in and far away. I bought them for the small, easy around the neck size.
