The Auto Extension Tube Set DG for Canon EOS Lenses from Kenko contains three tubes of different lengths--12mm, 20mm, and 36mm--which can be used individually or in any combination to obtain the desired magnification. They are compatible with Canon EF and EFS lenses.
Extension tubes are designed to enable a lens to focus closer than its normal minimum focusing distance. They have the effect of magnifying your subject and are useful for macro photography, allowing you to convert almost any lens into a macro lens while maintaining its original optical quality.
The extension tubes have no optics. They are mounted between the camera body and lens to create more distance between the lens and film/sensor plane. By moving the lens farther away from the film or sensor in the camera, the lens is forced to focus much closer than normal. The greater the length of the extension tube, the closer the lens can focus.
These Kenko Auto Extension Tubes retain auto focus capability with Canon AF lenses providing the effective aperture stays at f/5.6 or brighter.

I am using these tubes with my Canon 50D, 17-40, 24-105 and my 70-200 2.8 IS. All work well. The fit is snug and trustworthy. I sure wouldn't want my glass to fall off my camera.
Having the 3 tubes for the price of one Canon tube is a huge plus if you plan to use different focal length lenses.
If you are looking to do some inexpensive macro photos, this is definitely the way to go.

Comments about Kenko Auto Extension Tube Set DG for Canon EOS Lenses:
The extension tube set is sturdy and has metal mounts. I have no problems in carrying the 400mm f/5.6L - 68mm set of three extension tubes - 1.4X teleconverter - camera sandwich, final magnification approximately 0.4 to 0.5x (bare lens magnification 0.11x). There is no give whatsoever. This set of extension rings is an excellent way to get bird or butterfly close-up shots. It will be fun to experiment with wide angle lens near-macro photos as well.

Comments about Kenko Auto Extension Tube Set DG for Canon EOS Lenses:
This is such a brilliant product that I don´t want to take it of my Canon. Using it with EF50mm f/1.8 II Canon lens and my kit lens(18-55) I can take pictures that I never thought would be possible. But of course you need to have in mind that using these tubes, you loose light, but in good bright situations it is wonderful!

Comments about Kenko Auto Extension Tube Set DG for Canon EOS Lenses:
Absolutely love the photos possible with this product. Autofocus is very slow but I will use with manual focus anyway. Takes a good deal of practice to know what extension length to use for a particular lens. I pair it with a Canon EF 50mm F/1.2 on a T2i with great effects.

I have used the extension tubes twice since receiving them. I both cases I was extremely happy with the results. One of the pictures will be entered in a local photograph exhibition. They have met all my expectations. I would recommend them to a fellow photographer.

I'm always looking for additional ideas on another way to improve my photography and I've seen Bryan Peterson's videos and books talk about using extension tubes and had to try this out. I even got a strawberry out of season to give this a try!

work great and maintains focus. Previously I used a macro filter and was very disappointed with the distortions. Thus far, just got it so not extensively tested, but thus far much impressed as a cheaper than macro lens option.

This helps with macro focusing and even allows me to run a 1.4x or 2x extender with my Canon EF 100mm Macro lens. You lose several stops, but it works.

Works perfectly with my EOS 7D.
Including with the set a piece of paper with some instructions and numbers (and formulae) to do some simple calculations for magnification power with different focal lengths and such.
I suggest using it with a rail to move the camera body back and fro.

It is the first time I buy extension tubes. The building quality is high and I tested it because I needed to frequently change the tubes on my camera to achieve different magnification. This review is after three days of intense macro photography, and I really am satisfied by my purchase.
