- Collapsible
Enhance your subject's lighting environment with the Lastolite 48" (1.2 m) TriGrip. This TriGrip can block harsh sun, or studio light, or act as subtractor of unwanted reflected color casts.
The TriGrip replaces the traditional round reflector with a unique triangular design with a built-in handle. The TriGrip's comfortable handle allows for easy manipulation of the reflecting panel with no stand or support needed. This is especially useful when you are working alone.
The TriGrip measures ~48" (1.2 m) at its widest point, and is also available in the following colors: Gold/White, Sunlite/Soft Silver, Silver/White, Sunfire/Silver and Two Stop Diffusion.
- The triangular shape combines the ability to collapse the reflector, and the ability to hold itself rigid.

I use it for outdoor senior portraits. I like it because its only 1-stop and diffuses a lot of area, enough for two people even. It is a bit heavy for one handed use. My wife cannot hold it with one hand high for very long.

i use the product to diffuse sunlight for outdoor portraits. the diffuser is well built and easy to use. i like the larger size as compared to my 30". it covers a larger area and that is a good thing. i have an assistant hold it for me. the grip handle is better than holding both sides of a circular diffuser.

Like most of the Lastolite gear this is well constructed. Very useful for outdoor portraits for diffusing harsh sunlight, but also excellent for flower and macro photography.
Easy to fold up, I got it right the first time!
This might be too large for some, it is available in smaller sizes.

We used the lastolight to diffuse ambient light. It kept its shape at every angle and height unlike some of the larger reflectors (ovals). being able to use this as a diffuser and reflector(other versions) means we had less gear to carry on location!

This is a great product. Works well during photo shoots where there is no shade. Easy to use. A little tricky folding it back up. But after a couple times it gets easier.

Great for portraiture especially as a solo shooter. I can actually hand-hold it while shooting (for short periods and assuming no great wind of course) because its size gives me lots of reach. The one stop diffusion cuts the perfect amount of light for me. The only con I've found so far is that it's not as simple to twist closed as all of my other Lastolite produces (simpy due to its size).

This size TriGrip is great if you can keep it OPEN all the time. Trying to fold it up is a joke. Trying to follow Mark Cleghorn's video on it is a joke. You could and can learn how to fold this thing given enough practice. I don't have that kind of time.

I only gave this 4 stars because it did not come with instructions on how to fold it. My husband and I are both engineers and we fiddled with it for at least an hour trying to fold the darn thing back up. We finally found a video on their website that described how to do it, but by that point we were totally frustrated. I highly recommend watching the video before opening the product!

This thing works great, just make sure you are not using it in high wind as it is a sail. Thing is huge and is probably easier to use with an assistant than using it yourself.

I've bought several of these in the past, and I use all of them regular and, sometimes, all at once, at the same time. They do a wonderful job diffusing the sunlight in a very uniform manner (no hotspots on the subject) and are also great for shooting speedlights or strobes through if you don't have a softbox with you. Lastolite makes great products, and I buy from them whenever possible.

Durable and easy to hold with the built in handle.
However this is too big to hold with one hand and shoot with the other, get the 30" for that.
This is big enough to put one person in shade or 2~3 people head and shoulders
