I'm a Canon shooter, but really dislike Canon's lens caps because they are not a center pinch design and are almost impossible to attach/detach when you have a lens hood on. So I have been looking at different center-pinch caps. This is the best I have found so far.
I have also tried the Tamron and Olympus caps, and prefer the Nikon. I've got fat fingers, so I'm especially interested in a center pinch design where my fingers don't slip off the center "pinch bits".
The Nikon caps are easier to grip than the Tamron caps. The Olympus caps look to be the same design (but aren't quite), and have just slightly less grip than the Nikon caps.
But the Olympus caps cost much less, and are almost as good, so it's kind of a tossup. I will probably instead go with the Olympus caps, and glue something grippy to the part the fingers grab onto.
This would be 5 stars if the price wasn't so crazy.

I love my Tokina 12-24, but the lens cap not so much. Its just a little shallow on the squeeze to get it on or off easily. The Nikon fits better and seems to stay on better and easier to use.
Still it would be nice if the Nikon were a bit deeper to make grabbing it better.

Comments about Nikon 77mm Snap-On Lens Cap:
Identical to the original. Bought an extra so that I can put a step-up ring and a filter on a lens with smaller filter size and put a cap on it without removing the filter.

Purchases don't get much smaller then this one. I was given the same professionalism and attention as purchasing a larger item. Thank you for supporting your mfrs and accomodating your customers.

I like the center-click action of these Nikon lens caps. You can remove and replace the cap without having to remove the hood. I put them on all my lenses - Nikon and Canon.

Comments about Nikon 77mm Snap-On Lens Cap:
I have Canon, and a bag full of expensive equipment.
But for all the fine line of bodies and lenses, you'd think they would make a great lens cap. No such thing. If you have any filters, or God forbid a lens hood on, you can't get your fingers in to get it out or put it on.
I don't appreciate the price they want, but I have Nikon caps on my 4 Canon lenses and glad I do.

Seems losing lens caps is part of my routine? I try and put them in the bag as soon as I get started shooting but occasionally the caps get set down without paying attention and....
When ever I buy a new lens (too often) I get one or two spare caps and keep a spare in the bag a one stashed at home. Prefer these originals to cheaper generics.

This cap performs as you would expect a product from Nikon...flawlessly. I purchased it as a replacement for a "knockoff" cap that would stick, fall off, and didn't perform well. Lesson learned...spend a couple $$ more and stick with the quality of Nikon.

Comments about Nikon 77mm Snap-On Lens Cap:
Bought 2 Nikon caps to replace my 77mm Canon lens cap and 58mm Zeiss cap so that I could remove and replace the cap without having to remove the lens hood. This cap can be gripped near the inside of the cap as well as on the edges. Zeiss lens caps are designed like that too, but I can get a much better grip on the Nikon cap than the Zeiss cap. On a trip from San Jose, CA to Las Vegas, NV via plane, taxi and foot, neither of these caps ever came off unless I removed it. I love shooting with a Canon DSLR, a Zeiss lens and a Nikon lens cap...the best of everything!

Comments about Nikon 77mm Snap-On Lens Cap:
What can you say about a lens cap! It grips, it protects.
But, the most important feature (and the reason I ordered this more expensive replacement) is that I can reach the center-grip finger holes to apply or remove the cap when the metal hood is affixed to the lens. (Previously, the hood had to removed to reach fingers around the edges of the cap to release it.)
