The Zdirect from ART is a high quality passive interface that allows for connecting instrument, line, or speaker level signals to a mixer or other balanced input through a high performance audio isolation transformer. The high impedance single-ended 1/4" input is converted by the transformer into an isolated balanced low impedance signal source.
The unit has an extremely flat and wide frequency response and can handle high signal levels while still maintaining an isolated balanced low impedance output. This gives the Zdirect a very clean and neutral sound with a wide variety of signal sources and over long signal runs in high noise environments.

Comments about ART Zdirect Direct Box:
Backup and loaner for live shows. Not the best DI on the planet but not terrible either. Used on acoustic guitar, keys, etc. and it does ok.
Not studio quality by a long shot, but for this price when one breaks or gets stolen I don't shed many tears.
I think it actually sounds slightly better than some low-end Behringer active products, but your mileage will vary.

Comments about ART Zdirect Direct Box:
This box is not horrible if you need a DI quickly and only have [$]. They are durable, I just bought this one, and I have had another one for 3 years now. I am rough with it.

Comments about ART Zdirect Direct Box:
I needed a simple, but reliable way to hook up my system to other locations sound systems. Easy to use, lightweight, but most importantly it worked as described.
