Novatron Adapter - 5/8" Female to 1/4-20" Male
The Novatron 5/8" Female to 1/4"-20 Adapter is used to mount equipment on the 5020 light stands. This adapter is supplied with a knob to secure it to a light stand.

Planned to use this to adapt a Switronix Torch Bold LED to mount on my Arri light stands. When you tighten the adaptor to the light stand it does not sit straight up. It sits at an angle. Bought one of the Manfrotto adaptors and it works fine.

I am extremely impress with this product and its versatility. After mounting the adaptor on several tripods i purchased from B&H, i realized that this adapter is for an audio/video camera device. I needed an adapter for a lighting fixture. I exchanged it just for that purpose. Later on that evening, i wish i would have kept it for future use. Great price and good color value.

Well built, seems like it will last.
BUT the adapter came with a horrible, small 1/4-20 set screw with a small headless allen end. It was recessed down in the bottom of the socket and there was no way to keep the set-screw from turning without using an allen wrench while mounting an accessory. While trying to mount your accessory the 1/4-20 thread could screw into your accessory (as desired) or if could just screw back-up into the adapter socket. Bad design, or at best not meant to be taken on and off easily. A quick trip to my local home improvement store and I replaced their set screw with a 1/4-20 with a head on it. Now I the thread is tightened into the adapter and won't come out. Easy fix, but I question the design.
