Vixen's 8x20 Multi monocular has a good combination of magnification and viewing angle, given that it is a monocular. The impressive close focusing capacity of just 10" (25.4 cm) is great for museums & exhibitions. The high fit and finish of the device is apparent immediately.

Comments about Vixen Optics 8x20 Multi Monocular:
Wonderful for checking something at a distance and yet, with its 20mm minimum focusing distance, can be very useful for close-up examination of details. All of this utility in a small package that will fit in a shirt pocket if necessary. If you don't have it with you, you can't use it. You'll likely have this great, small optic nearby.

Comments about Vixen Optics 8x20 Multi Monocular:
Close foucus is about 30cm. You can use it as a magnifying glass. The focus ring is very smooth. The metal finish is similar to that of a cameara lens.
Image quality is OK. Sharp and with high contrast. No or very little CA under high contrast region. However, it is quite dim. At least not as bright as I expected.
Very short eye relief. You can't see the entire field of view if you wear glasses(Even you have folded down the rubber eyeguard). I think only ~70%.
For those who don't wear glasses, you have to press your eye socket firmly on the rubber eyeguard in order to have 100% field of view.
Great depth of view when viewing distant objects. You don't need to turn the focus ring so much. However, the depth of view become very shallow when <1m. It requires many turns to focus close objects. The monocular almost double it's length when focus on 30cm.
The cap on the objectuve lens is very loose.
Price too high.
