Today's digital still cameras have the ability to take excellent videos and movies. The problem is that the unit is only provided with a flash unit at best, which only works for a split-second. When taking videos, you need a light to come on and stay on. CameraBright lights are designed to turn on and stay on while you take your video. The advanced technology built into every CameraBright light ensures continuous, simple, single button operation; push the button once to turn the unit on, and push the button again to turn the unit off. If you forget to turn the unit off, it will turn itself off in a matter of minutes, thereby ensuring a great video next time.
This Warm White version is ideal for portrait Photography and videos where the main subject is people. The warmer color balance provides more pleaseing skin tones and makes bacground colors less harsh.

Barely bright enough to see inside your camera bag. Plastic screw will break off inside your camera's tripod socket.

Used it for lighting speakers in dark seminar room. With small camera like Kodak Play Touch works well and is so small to not be noticed by audience.

Comments about CameraBright X1-W Warm White Digital/Video Camera Light (Silver):
This product was a tough when to give a fair review. It is a great little light especially for portrat or interview recording. I love how you can take it with you and not have to lug around a larger light. However, the screw piece on the top that attaches itself to the camera is plastic. Mine broke inside my ZI8 Camcorder while filming in the woods! I was adjusting the camera and it snapped off. Huge inconvenience! I would expect better for a price take of around $30! If this piece was metal, five star all th way!
p.s (Purchasing a reverse drill bit to drill the broken piece out will work. This bit is design to go in a little ways and then grab while in reverse. These bits are expensive and may have to be purchased in a kit!)

Comments about CameraBright X1-W Warm White Digital/Video Camera Light (Silver):
I bought this for use with a Zoom Q3 video camera. The problem is that it connects to the camera about 3 inches below the lens (it would be the same with Flip cameras, too). This puts the light projection at about chest level, when someone's torso is centered in the picture. Not really useful.
I have not tried this with a regular digital camera, but I assume that it would work better, as the distance between the light & the lens is smaller.

Comments about CameraBright X1-W Warm White Digital/Video Camera Light (Silver):
I'd hoped that this light would make up for the low light conditions that prevented me from making videos in my my home but apparently this product is more for portrait photography. It does a good job for short distance portrait photography.

This is a great little light. I bought it to use with my flip camera. It's got a good 5-10 foot sweep.

it is very useful to have extra light, easy to mount and operate, if you need more extra light go for the more powerful one
Comments about CameraBright X1-W Warm White Digital/Video Camera Light (Silver):
A very cute and sometimes handy little item whichconveniently screws into the tripod socket under your cameraand with a reasonably bright light in a pinch. The onlyproblem is that the tripod screw is made of a inexpensive and softplastic that snapped off in my camera in the middle of ashoot, while just tightening the screw, causing a scratchedcamera base while I tried to pry it out so I could attach mycamera to the tripod. Moral of the story: Never overtighten the screw on theCameraBright!
Problems Encountered: Inexpensive plastic construction - tripod screw broke off whiletightening
