International Orders*The Genelec 8020.LSE TRIPAK 2.1 Stereo monitoring system is comprised of 28020A nearfield monitors matched with the 7050B subwoofer. The 8020A is a small, bi-amplified, 2-way speaker with twin 20 Watt amplifiers and shielded 4" and .75" Low and High frequency drivers, housed in a sturdy die-cast aluminum enclosure, and designed for use in any professional audio production environment where space considerations are paramount.
The two unique features of the 8020A are the MDE(Minimum Diffraction Enclosure) cabinet design, and the Iso-Pod(Isolation Positioner/Decoupler) speaker mount. The MDE design, with it's rounded, curved cabinet edges, improves spatial imaging and playback consistency. The Iso-Pod is a positioning mount that raises and isolates the speaker from the rumble and resonances often caused by surface placement.
The two 8020A rear panel connectors are 3-pin XLR's, providing both an input, and an output, for daisy-chain 5.1 surround expansion needs, or use with a subwoofer. A modest complement of tone control DIP switches allows for adjustment to the room's acoustic environment, and a bass port improves low end reproduction.
The 7050B subwoofer features an 8" driver, powered by a robust 70 Watt amplifier, housed in Genelec's proprietary LSE(Laminar Spiral Enclosure) bass reflex cabinet. This design combines minimized enclosure noise with tight, consistent signal dispersion, a characteristic of laminar.
The rear panel of the 7050B provides a bass management unit featuring 5 separate XLR I/O's and a dedicated LFE input for mixing or monitoring film-related music and sound effects in Dolby Digital, DTS, and other encoding formats. The amplifier unit, with active crossover filters and driver overload protection, is adjacent to an ample set of Bass Roll-Off, Phase and LFE Bandwidth DIP switch controls.
The 8020.LSE TRIPAK is a worthy and progressive solution as a 2.1 Stereo monitoring system for studio and A/V post or multi-media applications.

Comments about Genelec 8020.LSE TRIPAK - Active 2.1 Monitoring System:
I recently "cross-graded" from a pair of Genelec 1031A's to this setup for my main monitors. The 1031's were physically too big for proper placement in my recent working areas, and I didn't require the SPLs that those monitors can drive. That said, I'm very pleased with the performance of the 8020.LSE TRIPAK. The 8020's uphold the clarity of presentation that Genelecs are renowned for and are a good timbral match to my old 1031's. Predictably from the specs, the sub adds significant low-end depth that surpasses the 1031's. As one would expect with Genelecs, the subwoofer meshes perfectly with the monitors and provides tight reproduction, not just mushy "boominess" as so many consumer subs do.
A final note on physical durability: unlike the 1031's and Genelec monitors of that generation, the 8020's include per-driver grilles in their design. The monitors and subwoofer are hefty, and the enclosures feel like they could survive reentry from orbit.

Comments about Genelec 8020.LSE TRIPAK - Active 2.1 Monitoring System:
I'm a sound designer working in games and there are a few other game studios I've worked with that use this set up or larger versions. So I like working with them so much i decided to get a TRIPAK for myself.
The monitors i used before were in the shape of big oversize boxes. The 8020's are small and compact with a bit of tilt adjustment that fit on a desk very well. The 7050B sub is awesome to have in this combo, its so clear and has a very low range. All three pieces have a lot of filter and attenuation toggles for room control and the manuals that come with it are nice to help you figure out what is best to use. What's also nive about this set up is the option to buy 3 more 8020's for a 5.1 setup with i plan on doing in the future.
Nothing bad to say about this setup at this point only make sure you get the correct XLR cables to hook things up.

Comments about Genelec 8020.LSE TRIPAK - Active 2.1 Monitoring System:
Despite the small size of the sattelites, these nearfield monitors deliver smooth, extended response. All the pro features make setup easy if you follow the directions. You can perfectly match the timing (delay) of the sat's & sub to get phenominal attack, punchiness, and extended bass all seamlessly integrated. Genelec has a well-deserved reputation as THE best!
