As with the other 13 Pelican cases I own, this one is no exception. Rock solid, water tight, and I hesitate to say almost indestructable. When I see those old commercials with the gorilla jumping on the suitcase, this should have been it. We ship these things via plane and semi, they sit in the back of pickups in the rain, or in the dirt on the side of the road, and always protect there contents and show very little external wear. As long as Pelican makes cases like this, we will keep buying them.

I have several Pelican cases and have never been disappointed. I got this one for air travel--the wheels should make getting through airports easier. Several years ago I had a Pelican case damaged by the airline--the contents were unharmed but the case was split. Pelican replaced it without questions.
Great product.

Excellent case. Of course, whenever I want protect AND carry my equipment, I go with Pelican. You can't go wrong with these things, they are tanks. The 1560 is the perfect size for my AG-AC130, batteries, charger, and accesories. The one drawback was that it fit the camera perfectly sitting up in the foam (handle on top to grab) butI have to de-tach the microphone holder that is normally screwed onto the camera with 2 tiny philips screws. Not a big deal, I just need to budget the extra 2 minutes to set-up and breakdown that piece. Other than that, it is a perfect fit.

Great case for my Panasonic AG-AC160A. Fits the camera, RODE NTG-2 mic, batteries, charger, XLR cable and book.
This was my first Pelican case, so I was not sure how it was going to fit my gear, but all you do is move the small foam cubes and presto, customized case.
This case was much less expensive than the one Panasonic sells as a custom fit.
The case is a bit heavy, but then its allow very well made out of tough material and it rolls, so I don't have to carry it very far. I'd buy another for sure.
You might consider getting the 1510, but I was concerned it might be a bit small.
Be sure to look at the inside dimensions of the case you want to buy.

I bought this to use for some heavy industrail equipment. I am in the process of building 3/4" plywood inserts to hold the items and believe that the case will hold up under heavy use.
One nice feature is that the cover is held in place when open so it can't accidentally shut.

While shooting fashion week I needed something strong and reliable. The box travels well and was big enough to hold all my equipment. The foam did not work for me. I needed to be in and out of the box and the foam changed form so things started to shift. I will buy the padded dividers.

Comments about Pelican 1560 Case with Foam (Black):
When originally ordering the case I was sure it was too big to carry on, however: depending on the airline they may/may not allow you to bring the 1560 as a carry on. I was in fact allowed to do this on an international flight. On numerous occasions I have checked this case as baggage without any worry at all knowing that my gear is secured. The pick foam interior safely and securely holds all the contents and the case is quite roomy. I was able to fit 2 bodies 5D MkII, t2i, a 70-200 IS II 2.8, 580EX II flash, 85mm 1.8, 24-105 f/4, 18-55 kit lens, both chargers, including an extra one for the flash and the AA batteries, as well as some additional accessories. Still room remains for when I acquire more gear. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to safely and securely store and transport your gear.

Using this for projector transport. Works exactly like you want it to, very solid case!
Comments about Pelican 1560 Case with Foam (Black):
Fit our Sony FS100 perfectly. The first layer was the perfect depth. For other things added, you can cut the first layer of foam taken out in half (or however much) and put it back to get everything to the right height. We got everything we needed for our camera including cables, battery charger, lens, viewfinder, shotgun mic, and even had space for an extra lens down the road. Can't beat Pelican cases.

If you need your delicate electronic equipment to survive a daily trip to a coal mine, in all that muck and slime, then you need a Pelican case.
If you need your multi-thousand dollar radio gear to survive a trip to the jungle and back, it needs to go into a Pelican case.
If you need a good deal on Pelican stuff, B&H is where to go. They are invisible...just amazing on getting the stuff out the door.

I have finally found a portable case that I can fit everything I need in one carry case.
It isn't the Lightest Case around, but you can rest assured it will not fall apart within a year, like other equivalently priced cases I have purchased in the past.
Solid Hard construction prevents any damage to everthing you pack inside.
The precut cube foam insert is great for planning out your organization of everything.
Fit Cameras, Lenses, Batteries, Strobes and more!

We use this case at my work to transport an expensive monitor around, with the custom foam it's well protected and stays dry as a bone in the worst rain. Pelicans are great, would never use anything less!

Comments about Pelican 1560 Case with Foam (Black):
I purchased the case to transport several electronic pieces of equipment to Southern Sudan. The foam inserts allow you to customize the shapes needed to transport anything you need and for the 1560 included satellite terminal, satellite phone, flashlights, small printer, and a few other pieces of gear. It's sturdy and lightweight but definitely bulky. However, having two handles helps, as does the telescoping handle to roll it. I would happily buy additional Pelican cases in the future from BH of varying sizes.

I purchased the 1560 to transport electrical test tools on air travel as well as via the trunk of my car. The size of the 1560 is perfect without getting too bulky or overweight. The retractable handle and wheels make it easy to use. It was very easy to pick out the foam in order to place my test tools. I might buy another!

This is a great product. I travel with 3 Canon 5D's and 3 small primes. Everything fits nicely into this case, and is easily carried on large planes. The only time you may have a problem is on smaller, regional flights. Though I greatly dislike parting with my gear at a "Gate Check", at least I know it's in a Pelican.

Will be making a trip to Alaska later this year by plane and wanted solid protection for a Nikon 500 mm F4 and maybe an extra camera body. Solid is probably the right word. This should hold up to anything the airlines can dish out.
