The Gepe Card Safe Extreme (Rosso Red) is a watertight case made to store memory cards such as Compact Flash, Smart Media, Memory Stick, MMC or SD cards. Inside, the memory cards are protected against humidity and dust, as well as electrostatic charge. Four compartments offer space for several different memory cards, and grip each of them tightly.
The Card Safe Extreme uses insert material to protect the memory cards from being erased or damaged due to electrostatic effects. The card holder also has special viewing windows so you are able to see which space is taken by which card, even if the box is closed. This makes the organization of your cards easier. In addition, it is weatherproofed and it floats in water, and the design of the lock makes using the Card Safe a snap, even when wearing gloves.
The Card Safe Extreme has been tested and certified as European IPX-7, which means it is protected against immersion in water (immersion for 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter).

So far so good. My last card holder broke after about a year. We'll see how this one holds up! I like the functionality, the ability to see the cards inside, and the ability to store SD and CF cards at the same time.

Comments about Gepe Card Safe Extreme (Red):
I take this case with me to weddings (I also have a green case). It easily holds my cards of all sizes, although mainly CF's. The cards fit quite snugly, but it loosens up a little over time. The case is extremely well built and I love the variety of colors they come in. I have two, one in neon green and one red. "Green for go, red for no" It makes it easy for me to know which cards I've filled. :)

Comments about Gepe Card Safe Extreme (Red):
I use this case for storing CF and SD Cards in my camera bag when I travel and it works great. What I love about this case is that you can stack the CF and SD cards on top of each other. So, if necessary, you can store four (4) CF cards and (4) SD cards in the case at the same time. I assume this works for SD cards paired with the other types of memory cards as well (i.e. SM, MS, and MMC).
I typically keep this case stored in my camera bag so I haven't had to "test" how watertight the case protection really is from water though my guess based on how tight it seals once it is closed, that it does very well in this department.
The casing feels very durable as well so hopefully it will hold up in case it falls or gets dropped.
PROS:
- Holds four (4) CF cards and four (4) SD cards at once
- Watertight (as long as latch is secure)
- Good protection
- Case has viewing windows for each card slot so you can see into the case without actually opening it.
CONS:
- The fit is so good around the cards, that sometimes it's hard to get the card out of its slot.

Comments about Gepe Card Safe Extreme (Red):
waterproof, shockproof. Probably not the slimmest, compact case but I've used these for years to store CF & SD cards when shooting on location. Cards sit face up for ready to go, face down for shot.

You get the feeling you could drive a truck over these babies without damaging the goods inside. This card safe is possibly the best value of any photographic accessory you can buy because it protects your most important asset -- your pictures.Solid, reliable storage of cards. Some complain about difficulties in retrieving cards; I don't see this as a significant problem.

I use this product with my camerabag, just because its easy to store my cards. And i know its safe from water, electricity and shocks. Im looking forward to have my cards safe and sound and in one place rather than all over the place.
Cons - Not so many storage places as you would need if you are photographing alot.

This is my 3rd of these Gepe cases, each in a different color. They are very durable to harsh weather conditions. I use them with CF cards, but they hold many other types as well. Fits in your pocket very comfortably, even while kneeling or crouching down.

No sooner than I received this I loaded 4 new SDHC cards in it and accidentally dropped it on the hard floor. No damage to the card safe and the cards stayed in their slots. Feels as solid as a rock too.

AS AN LANDSCAPE/NATURE PHOTOGRAPHER I OWN 6 SAFES.
NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MY CARDS AS THEY ARE ALWAYS DRY AND ACCESSIBLE TO ME WHEN I NEED ONE. I CARRY ONE FULL SAFE IN MY FRONT POCKET. I HAVE DROPPED THE CASE FROM OVER 40 FEET AND FOUND THE CARDS UNAFFECTED NOR THE CASE DAMAGED. THE SEAL PROVIDE WATERTIGHT SECURITY TO THE CARDS WEATHER IN THE DESERT, HIGH ALTITUDE, OR AT SEA.

This is a great little piece of equipment! It holds four CF cards very securely and is built to take a beating! The hinge closes solidly and the build quality feels very tough. I don't know if it is listed in the description, but the plastic is translucent over the card positions, so you can quickly tell what cards are in the case without opening it.

i haven't had to tote this on any triathalons so i can't attest to it's weather-proof qualities but i am traveling in asia and i do feel quite secure storing my media in this case. for some reason i'd envisioned a case that weighs less and is less bulky but this case feels nice, is made of good materials and works very well so i'd recommend it.

I have 2 of these now, one green and one red to keep filled cards in one and empties in the other, fast recognition. I do not worry about cards getting wet.
