The construction of the unit is sturdy and the parts themselves appear to be made of quality materials. It comes with a mounting system. I opted to use an existing antenna pole located on the chimney to install the antenna. This unit is preferable to larger antenna units because its smaller profile reduces wind resistance when mounted on a roof.
Where I am in Brooklyn, NY, we can get all the signals from the Empire State Building which covers all the major broadcast channels for a total of 45 channels. If you plan to mount the antenna someplace similarly out of the way, remember to pick up a RG6 cable to connect it.
The only difficult thing about installing the antenna was to find the direction of where to point the antenna. This is a directional antenna which means that the front of the antenna must face the signal source. That information can be found on antennaweb.org. It will not pick up signals more than 20 degrees from the direction it faces.

I did some research online about the HDTVo Amplified Directional HDTV Antenna by Terk. For my location and other variables this was the right product. I live about 50 miles away from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area relay stations. Right out of the box with the antenna just sitting on a chair I was able to pick up ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in great digital quality. If you live in a rural area and want digital tv reception you won't be disappointed with this Terk antenna.

This anntena is wonderful for it's size. At about 35 miles from most transmission towers, my reception went from the lower teens and high twenties to all ninetys on all 20 stations. Before I bought this anntena I could hardley pick up about 7 stations and reception was horrible. Who would want a 10 to 15 foot long anntena unless you live in the middle of a wilderness!!!

This is by far the best looking antenna that I have found. The antenna is sleek and blends in nicely with the surroundings unlike most of the other antennas in the area.
I receive better picture quality than I did with HD Digital cable or Direct TV HD plus no $90+ bill per month. I signed up for Netflix and have all the commercial free movies that I can handle, and the antenna gets all the other shows that interest me.
Overall great product that is reasonably easy to install if you read and follow the instructions:).

I purchased Terk HDTVo to replace "rabbit ears" antenna primarily to view Channel 13 (PBS). I live in NJ suburbs of NYC and the transmitter (Empire State Building) is ~18 miles away. I used [@] to determine antenna's direction/orientation. Initially, I installed HDTVo in our attic - results were mixed. The signal was not much better than from "rabbit ears". Installation on the roof did make a difference. To summarize: it is a good antenna, however, do not expect miracles.

This is the ONLY outdoor amplified antenna I've found that picks up ALL HDTV channels regardless of whether they are broadcast on UHF or VHF. I get a total of 48 digital channels from Baltimore and Wash DC from my home in suburban Maryland with this antenna and they're all FREE!!! I do not even have to re-point it. It way outperforms the UHF Bow-Tie I was previously using. Who needs hi-def CABLE!!!!
