The organizer has five zippered pockets that are useful for holding cables and small accessories. It is, however, not designed to be easily installed. First you have to drill pilot holes. Then you have to use care not to damage the mesh pockets since the mounting points require that you stretch the pockets to get a screwdriver on the screws. If you try to screw it in through the mesh, the mesh tends to wrap itself around the screwdriver. I got it installed without damaging it but it took an hour. Pelican needs to put a bit more thought into this design. I also own a 1510 case with an organizer factory installed. The factory version is more robust and has a better design for installation.

This does exactly what it is made to do, add storage to the top of your Pelican case. The screws are a little tough to get started, but once you get all 6 of them in, everything is very secure. If you think you might need this, just get it. You won't be disappointed.

I put this in the lid of a 1514 case that I use a a vehicle tool kit for overland travel. Perfect for storing those small tools, gloves, clamps, etc... decent construction, zippers seem to be fine but may wear out over time, we'll see.

Installation was a snap. The trick is to start the screw hols manually with a small hand drill or somesuch. Once in place it provides much needed added storage and organizational space for the numerous, not terribly fragile but nonetheless important small items and commercial photographer wants to carry with him. This frees up padded compartments for the more expensive and fragile items such as additional lenses, speedlights or back-up camera bodies. My only negative comment is that the zippers are not the best quality and that you should use two hands to open and close them. Bottom line: it was $[$] well-spent.

I bought this for my iM2500 in confidence from Pelican that it would fit. I didn't like the layout of the one made specifically for Storm and hoped this one would fit. I contacted Pelican directly and they told me that since the dimensions were the same as the 1510 that it would fit. Upon receiving it I found it was very snug against the iM2500, but no matter I figured after screwing in the lid that it would fit better.

After screwing the second bit in I noticed a small crevasse in my floor. The screw had gone straight through the case! I was very frustrated and contacted Pelican immediately. After not hearing back as soon as I would of liked I contacted BH for a return via the phone. They were extremely polite and helpful and agreed to accept my return of the lid organizer and case. Time and time again BH has gone out of it's way to prove they are the best at what they do and I went ahead and ordered a different style of case immediately after.

Makes good use of the top of the case for storage. Different sizes for different items, I like it.

I only gave it four stars because the instructions refer to the top of the case having pre-drilled holes but that's not true, I had to drill holes. Not sure whether to knock the case or this organizer, but in any case, you just need a very small drill bit to start a pilot hole, not much difficulty at all. It would be a big waste of space not to install this organizer.

Overall, great product... here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
~Great organizer for caps, extra batteries, cords,
remote shutters, pens, etc.
~Fits nicely into the Pelican brand case
~Handy to have small items in quick access
~Great price for the product

Cons:
~Not super easy to intstall, but my hubby did it
quickly with no problems using a drill
~Cannot use Pelican case foam if organizer is
installed; the bulk won't allow for it
~Fiddly zippers... since the case is mesh you
cannot just unzip a compartment with one hand. It
is too flimsy. You must hold the top with one
hand and them unzip. I feel like Pelican should
have used a different material for the
compartments. Maybe a sturdier mesh or something.
~Tiny items may poke through mesh holes

Even with the cons listed I am still happy with this product. Pelican could definitely make some improvements, but I like having the ability to organize smaller items inside my case so I can't really complain too much.

Nice Item, He liked it, but the attachment design needs work,,, Maybe Large Velcro strip, would work better,, fit Nicely ....

Since I bought my 1510 Pelican I can't think in any other thing but the lid organizer. Have so many little things to carry on like triggers, cables and stuff that if you decide to let them hanging around, you can scratch your camera or lens easy. No matter the model of your Pelican... be sure to grab your Lid Organizer... worth every penny

Great way to utilize space in lid of your pelican case. It was not the easiest task to install (aligning while tapping screws). Simple step to make install a breeze was to drill tiny holes smaller than the screws to help the screws go smoothly.
