Comments about Recordex USA Messenger - 1-1 Cassette Duplicator:
My unit looked rugged out of the box. After duplicating six tapes, the level was very low. The repair man said the heads were dirty. He cleaned them and sent it back. Now the levels are up, but I'm getting crosstalk on four track mono tapes like the ones used by the Library of congress and recording for the Blind. If Recordex doesn't fix the problem, I want a refund, it's still under warranty. It looks good on paper and maybe if they adjust the heads properly, we can stop the crosstalk. I don't know if I would buy this model again. I might find a more professional unit.
Problems Encountered: head problems after seven tapes and crosstalk. I don't think the technician knew what he was doing.
Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Used to own Telex and it was a real work horse!
