Comments about Braun Compact Slide Tray:
I bought this as alternative to the white slide tray that comes with the PowerSlide 5000 slide scanner. The white tray is only usable with thicker slides, such as glass- or plastic-mounted slides. When used with the typical cardboard mount, it causes frequent mis-feeds--where the slide is not inserted completely into the scanner.
Unfortunately, I had the same experience with this tray; about 1/3 of the slides in the first--and only--batch of slides I scanned using this tray also misfed.
The PowerSlide tech support folks claim that this is because the scanner isn't aligned properly, and provide a script for adjusting the alignment. Unfortunately, this involves removing the cover, which voids the warranty; and changing the alignment really means bending the cast aluminum arm that pushes the slide into the scanner, which sounds pretty sketchy to me.
It's also pretty fussy to insert slides in this tray. The tray has U-shaped slots for the slides, and you have to line up the slide in the proper slot on both sides of the tray; and this is made more difficult because the tray is black and the slots are difficult to see.
Others have reported, the Braun Paximat 100 S circular tray is the only tray that seems to work well with the PowerSlide scanner, and that's been my experience, as well. I was hoping to find a straight tray that would work well, but apparently this isn't it.

Comments about Braun Compact Slide Tray:
The price is excellent and so is B&H.
Works just fine and is the same one
supplied with the Pacific Image Powerslide
5000, so all my trays are the same. I
purchased six of them.

Comments about Braun Compact Slide Tray:
I'm scanning several thousand slides. These compact slide trays by Braun are well made and provide flawless feeding for many types of slides including cardboard and thin plastic mounts.
Thick plastic mounts can be fed sometimes, but the universal slide tray is the better choice.

These slide trays were purchased for use with a Pacific Image Powerslide 3650, they work great. Recommend them to anyone who own a powerslide.
