Comments about On-Stage MS7920B - Kick Drum Microphone Stand:
ok but preferred the old one which had a triangular base more sturdy, less prone to tip overi used the previous model for everything from small instruments to standing bass and acoustic guitarsthis one does not extend as far - shorter by about 4"

Comments about On-Stage MS7920B - Kick Drum Microphone Stand:
I've used this Stand for kick drum and guitar cabinets. It's got all the bits you need in small boom stand. Weighted foot might not be as stable as a tripod with sand bags, but unless it's being over extended or supporting an especially heavy mic it does a fine job.

I am using this stand for the kick drum and smaller amps. The heavy base keeps the positioning of the microphone very stable.

Comments about On-Stage MS7920B - Kick Drum Microphone Stand:
I've used this stand on kick drums and amps for a few sessions already, and it seems to be just fine. The base is surprisingly heavy, and the pivot has yet to sag, even when using a heavy condencer and shock mount.
I don't prefer the sliding metal "thumbscrew," but it's pretty much standard on stands in this price range, and I wasn't interested in spending double on a more dependable design. It looks like the components will hold up, which I can't say of similar stands I've had in the past. But so far, so good.

Comments about On-Stage MS7920B - Kick Drum Microphone Stand:
These stands are just right for several pro applications. Strong enough for our D112's or Beta 52's on kick drum or the ever popular uber-versatile SM57 for guitars etc. It's small footprint let's me sneak it into tight drum kits where larger base stands fear to tread. Saving trailer space is another plus as I can transport 4 of these babies in the same area as one of our round boom stands. Can't think of any downsides as this was a second purchase of these particular stands. Try em - you won't be disappointed!

Comments about On-Stage MS7920B - Kick Drum Microphone Stand:
I actually ordered this stand along with a bunch of other equipment. [...]As far at the item goes, I think it's a good mic stand. The base is really heavy (compared to some other stands I have), so it has a nice solid feel. However, I think the screw threads may be a bit delicate (i.e. made of white metal) and could easily strip (in fact, that was the problem with the first one I received). I think you'd have to be careful when screwing the upright to the boom support; any cross-threading, and you would easily strip it! Nonetheless, exercise care and it's a good little stand!
