The MA100 from On-Stage is a 3/8" male to 5/8" female screw adapter. This adapter allows you to attach items that utilize a 3/8" female thread onto Microphone stands with a 5/8" male thread.

These adapters work like a charm. I could not find these adapters at any music or video store where I live (Southern California). Alas! BH carried the part I needed (as always). So far I have used the adapter for location sound work and they have not given me any issues.

I do sound for film and all my blimps and some other shock mounts use the 3/8 thread. This adapter allows me to use standard mic stands with these devices. Well made heavy duty at a great price.

This is simple but effective for what it is supposed to do. Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong size so it was not what I needed. Ordered a Manfrotto adapter instead that was more money and made of brass, but I wish it could have been cheaper like this one.

Some Mic stands and Mic holders have European threads (3/8" 16) and some have American threads (5/8"). It is critial at times to be able to quickly connect one type with the other.
