I bought this to use with my Sony Walkman CD player - I have meditation cds I listen to everyday that I need full cd quality for, not compressed mp3 quality. This has paid for itself with what I've saved on batteries.This is a hard to find item. The only other place I found it was at Sony online, which had a much higher price and shipping cost. This was definitely a good value!

Besides using my mp3 and CD players for music, I use them extensively for audio books. I look forward to the end of my day when I put my ear buds on and listen to a couple chapters of my audio books before I go to sleep. I have gone through hundreds of batteries in these past several years and this Sony AC-E45A 4.5 AC Power Adapter has ended those battery runs for good. It is always dependable and I am saving a fortune in disposable batteries. I just wish that I had thought of this solution years ago.

The AC-E45A works fine. My wife's not complained about noise the way she's using it (as read in other reviews), so I'm happy. Leave it to Sony to use a screwy sized power supply plug. The universal power supply I had with multiple (7) adapter plugs did not fit the D-EJ011 Walkman I needed to power--and 750mA draw to power it? Wow. This unit is not that large for 1W of power. I've seen larger for 500mA, and the AC-E45A can supposedly handle variable voltages (100-240Vac advertised). It seems fine to me for a reasonable price through B&H. Thanks B&H!

I bought this AC adapter to use with the Sony D-NF340 CD Walkman MP3 w/FM Tuner.
This adapter works perfectly with the Sony Walkman.
It is very compact. I like the folding plug. It has a long power cable, which is very convenient. It is well-built. The adapter works great with an FM tuner, but it is not recommended for AM because it will cause noise.

I understand that this power adapter can cause static with radio. I use this adapter with a cd player only -- without radio -- and have no problems.
