I bought this package to provide portraiture services in my portfolio. For the price this kit is a good point to start with if you are getting into taking portraits or product photography. The monolights feel pretty solid and emit enough light to take some pretty good photos.

One awesome feature that comes with this package is that the monolights have built in slave cells for wireless triggering. Once you setup your speedlight to trigger the flash no need for purchasing sync slaves. Keep in mind that the fastest shutter speed you will be able to shoot at with your speedlight will be 1/250 sec (1/200 for some models).

If you would like to have a higher shutter speed you will definitely have to purchase sync slaves for all of your devices. The air-cushioned stands do the job but do feel kind of flimsy. If you over-tighten any of the screws to lock the stand you WILL bend the stand so take great care to tighten but not over-tighten them.

Overall for the price the product by IMPACT (who also makes very excellent backdrop products) is worth the money. Need more light? Just buy another monolight and add it to this already existing package.

The only downside some people may have with this product is the following information listed in the manual:

    * Do not flash over 12 shots per minute for over a 10 minute period.

    * Do not flash over 8 shots per minute for over 30 minutes.

I personally don't see this as a issue but everyone has their own peeves.

    Overall a good product!

Was excited to get this product and it does work well. The bulbs just don't put out the juice I want it to though. I went with Nikon's speed lights instead and they are more powerful, more portable, and more options in the field.

The kit was actually still worth buying as it comes with a lot of great stuff. Bag, light stands, soft-boxes (just that alone was worth the money. Just don;t care for the lights.

Comments about Impact Two Monolight Kit with Bag (120VAC):

For the price, this equipment really can't be beet. It works great and will make a great addition to any beginners inventory. This is not professional lighting but can come in handy in a pinch. One thing to note, you do need a hot shoe for the top of your camera in order to plug the sync cord into. (At least I did for my Nikon D5100 ) The lights to have a flash sensor and will go off if they recognize another flash which can be handy if you don't have a radio slave.

Light weight and easy to transport/set up. Best use would be for portrait or small studio space.

Definitely a cheap product but you can't be surprised since the price is so low. If you take care of it, it will last you long enough.

I have attached a photo I took of a box. Nothing crazy, but this is with no photoshop lighting adjustments. (I did clone out a couple things but that has nothing to do with lighting )

        Shot with a Nikon D5100 + Sigma 70-300

Comments about Impact Two Monolight Kit with Bag (120VAC):

I li9ked how the lights are packed in their own protective covering. I also like that it comes with stands and soft boxes, I am sad to report though I ripped through one of the soft boxes corners so am going to replace it very soon. I do like the reflector dishes though that bring out the best light possible for photos, I have to adjust the intensity though for some. I am very pleased witht his product it is going to help me with my photo business many times over in creating great promotional photos for the artists I work with, and maybe even start doing a small photo booth for fundraisers, and Christmas events. the possibilities are endless, thank you B&H for this product and thank you Impact for creating a great package of monolights.

Comments about Impact Two Monolight Kit with Bag (120VAC):

I use these lights for product photography. Two work fine for smaller items, but if you will be shooting large items, I would recommend 4 lights. The flashes are bright and adjustable. At the highest power, they recharge instantly for use again. Each light comes with a sync cable, but you only need to connect one. Make sure your camera has a port for the cable, otherwise you won't be able to use them.

The stands are good, but if you're going to be shooting outdoors or in a high-traffic area, I'd suggest getting sandbags to weigh them down. The power cords are long, but could be longer. Overall, everything is average. I wasn't blown away by this setup, but it definitely gets the job done!

It is not the absolute best, but for the money it is perfect!

I wanted a starter kit that would be strong enough for indoor portrait photography and easy to set up. This kit was both. Once of the reasons I went with this kit is because of the feedback and tips from other reviewers. The slave sync works extremely well, the lights are easy to set up and move and well made. For my first light kit purchase, I am extremely happy.

Comments about Impact Two Monolight Kit with Bag (120VAC):

If the power cables get bumped or even slightly moved it shuts off and turns on...time and time again. The vertical pivot on head mount doesn't hold on one of the lights, had to jury rig something up to hold it from falling. On one of the soft boxes, the stitching on one of the box skins is so poor that 3 of the 4 flex rods pushed right through--fixed it by using gaffers tape (which so far is holding the box together). When everything is working and ready to go, it functions fine (until the power cables are moved, then shuts off, turns on, beeps twice and I'm ready to go).

I got this set to start out with and I like it a lot actually. It was fairly priced.

The only thing is you need to get a remote for them, cause the sync cord is a pain in the rear.

Other than that I highly recommend these for starters, they're very easy to assemble and use, and clear to figure out.

The only things that arent TOOO great is that the softboxes are pretty small, theyre pretty much only good for portraits, and kids maybe, Kind of hard to do a full body shot. I also suggest picking up a 60" umbrella to go with these.

Easy to pack, Easy to unpack, Set up doesnt take more then 15 at the most, the only thing that is tricky is setting up the soft boxes the first time but after that its easy.

I think this is probably the best deal on a starting kit for studio strobes. All the components fit in the bag making it simply to carry. My only concern is that the carrying bag has no compartments so objects may shift or even break during transport, which can be an issue with the softboxes and bulbs.

Comments about Impact Two Monolight Kit with Bag (120VAC):

Very cool kit for the price, packaged well to protect shipping, which shows a company that takes pride in their product.
The only con I found is that once opened and unpacked, the bag does not offer much protection at all.. I was scared to even carry it.. Bought some fleece and cheap bags from the ol "have everything cheap megastore" for $25 and now it's packed nice and perfect for taking anywhere without worry!

Comments about Impact Two Monolight Kit with Bag (120VAC):

This is a great starter kit! The lights are easy to set up and use. Plus it's fun to experiment with. I have a mini studio in my house and have used these lights for a variety of different client situations.

The stands are pretty light so it might be a good idea to buy a couple of sandbags for support. Also the softboxes are not the best but they get the job done. Overall I am pretty happy with this kit!
