Comments about Pakon 35mm Plastic Slide Mounts - 500 Mounts:
I have about 3000 Kodachrome 25 I took on a 6 month safari in Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia back in 1973 - 74. The slides are in great shape, the reputation for longevity is why I used that film, but it has been a chore cleaning them up of dust to scan them for printing and showing them again to friends. The old cardboard carriers have slowly deteriorated over the years and the dust was impossible to remove, trust me I tried everything. The answer is Pakon plastic mounts. While wearing lint free gloves remove the film from the cardboard mounts, a scissors and butter knife works well, clean the slides with PEC-12 solution and PEC pads. Then slide the film easily into the Pakon mounts using the supplied tool, and scan into your computer using Silverfast 8.0 to remove the very small amount of remaining dust and do your initial color and exposure adjustments. You can write on the plastic mounts with marker or pencil, they are sturdy, and the end job is neat and clean. And, no more dust as my originals are being moved from the carousels to archival sheet slide preservers. Great product, this project being impossible without these mounts. B&H would probably like some negatives to balance this review, but I have none. A perfect product for this task.

Comments about Pakon 35mm Plastic Slide Mounts - 500 Mounts:
I have several thousand glass-mounted art history slides. Over the decades these have become scuffed (and they're heavy!) so I decided to remount them all.
Pakon mounts make what could have been a nightmare of fiddly tedium into a fairly smooth & painless process. They're easy to open with the little blue gizmo (included) and the slide film eases in between the Pakon grooves very neatly.
Cool!!

With the popularity of digital and the growing demise of film and all associated products, it's great to find quality film accesories at a good price[...]. Amazingly the local stores don't seem to care about "old school" products and accesories. G Smith

Comments about Pakon 35mm Plastic Slide Mounts - 500 Mounts:
Bought these to re-mount older slides that were in damaged cardboard mounts. The plastic is thin enough for use in the Carousel 140 trays without jamming. The aperture for the film frame is nice and crisp, with squared-off edges which reveal more of the original frame than the old cardboard mounts.
This set includes a small blue tool which is used to slightly open the end of the mount, allowing the film frame to be slipped into the mount without scratching. (I recommend wearing cotton gloves while handling your precious film frames.)

Comments about Pakon 35mm Plastic Slide Mounts - 500 Mounts:
Does the work. Hard to beat price. Includes manual mounting tool (this was not clear from the description). Few mounts inside my box were warped, but it was not a big deal. I finally decided to scan my old 35mm slides which were stored just in envelopes (bad - I know!), these mounts were the most affordable I could find. [...]

Comments about Pakon 35mm Plastic Slide Mounts - 500 Mounts:
Plastic mounts that don't give off fibers like carboard mounts do, and have square inside corners to allow maximum image to be shown. Includes a special device that opens the mount on one side to allow the film to slide into place - best to use cotton gloves to avoid fingerprints.

Comments about Pakon 35mm Plastic Slide Mounts - 500 Mounts:
These mounts are easy to work with, getting the negatives out and back in for scanning and there is enough room on them to put our tags and various info.
I have nothing to complain about.
