Bought paterson reels and this tank. Reels work great and fit snugly in tank. Design seems fine and quite well thought but my sample came with a pesky issue. It leaks liquid out of the red rim (where the rim meets the body of the tank). Just in case you're wondering.. No, the lid is placed correctly.
There are no light leaks that I can speak of.. it's just a water leak!
What this means is that While processing I'll get a little dripping action along the way. Not a terrible thing, however an entirely unnecessary one.
Yes, I could probably exchange for a new one with BH however I live in Brazil and to have one shipped out here would cost me more in import taxes than I care for. So, for now I'll live with it, and in the future I'll probably plug the leak!
Simple design, works fine, lid is secure, daylight processing with "little" hassle!

This tank works, but the plastic parts don't seem to be very good. If you use the agitator it will rub on the bottom of the tank and shave off plastic bits that end up floating around in any chemicals that you reuse.

I have multiple tanks that have frustrated me in one way or another. While I find the metal tanks better because they use metal reels, this tank is on par with a metal tank.
I was having problems with other tanks, both metal and plastic, leaking chemicals while doing color development, which was frustrating. The sealing system on this tank is perfect, and allows for easy burping of excess gas or pressure. I have not leaked a drop. Plus, the ability to do two 120/220 rolls at once, or three 35mm rolls really make it much easier for my processing.

I use this tank to develop my 120 rolls. It works well but can be a little bulky so I wouldn't recommend going bigger. Then again, I'm a little on the small side.

Comments about Paterson Multi-Reel 3 Tank ONLY:
I've used Paterson tanks for years at the local university darkroom. After it was dismantled, I needed tanks of my own. The multi-reel 3 tank was perfect for my needs, as I am doing both medium-format and 35mm film work, and this tank gave me the ability to do both in a single purchase. I also have a few stainless steel tanks, but I have to admit that loading the Paterson twist reels makes life really easy!

I've been using these tanks in every darkroom i've been to. Particularly because plastic reels are easier to load than metal ones. I'm always happy with my results. These tanks are simple. My main issue is they can crack but if you treat them nicely they'll last a long time.

Comments about Paterson Multi-Reel 3 Tank ONLY:
As a hobbyist who shoots 35mm, medium, and large format, I learned long ago that I could save a great deal of money developing both B&W ans color at home. I own multiple steel tanks and reels as well as two sizes of these Patterson tanks. I find the Patterson systems very easy to load in comparison to steel reels and the ONLY system I will use for 220 film. They are simply the best.

Having been limited to using stainless steel for so many years, this wonderful contraption has been a blessing to use. Easy. Fast loading. Quick to clean. A real pleasure to work with. Will continue to buy and spread the word.

Saves so much time: 3 35mm or 2 120's. Wish I bought this months ago.
Only "problem" is sealing the lid take a little bit of time which is important during development however, i totally recommend this tank.

I like this tank a lot, I have been using it for processing black and white film, it can do 2 rolls on 120/220, which is usually what I am looking for. The only thin I don't like is that you have to buy the reels separately, otherwise I have been very happy with it.

Comments about Paterson Multi-Reel 3 Tank ONLY:
I've been using Paterson development tanks for 15 years with great results. For any film photographer, I recommend this 3-reel tank over the Paterson 1-reel. They are identical except for capacity, which is important when developing multiple rolls per session.
I've never had a light leak with a Paterson tank, and very few issues feeding the film onto the reel (mostly when my hands are wet anyway; not the fault of the reel). The heavy-duty construction is trivial to clean, and makes it difficult to create an improper seal. Great product.
