I purchased two of these guys to use in my recording studio. I've generally always used the standard, aluminium USB cables that have come with my equipment and have never had any problems whatsoever. The reason for the purchase of these Belkins was really to upgrade and tighten up. I thought that the shielding, gold plating, and the impedance matched twisted pair construction would make a diffrence, however small. To my dismay, using one of these cables with my Fast Track Ultra (drivers updated) produced a horribly crackly audio, whether from my DAW, youtube, or even playing a song on VLC. Tried every sample/bit rate switch possible in the interface settings. Confirmed it was the cable by trying the other one (I bought two). I really wish I could give a good review for these but, at the end of the day, they just don't work. My 89¢ aluminium, small-gauge USB cables at least do what they're supposed to. Will use them for a printer or something. Shame.

I bought this to connect a laptop with my Canon SLR for tethered shooting. It is not compatible! Canon cameras use the 5-pin mini-B and nowhere on this page does it say this is 4-pin.

The typical printer cable comes in about 6' lengths. If you've got the desktop space, grab this cable. This 10' cable will allow you to move your printer away from your PC a bit more, which will give you more room to work!

The way this product was recommended to go with the hard drive I purchased made me believe that it was necessary. It turns out that the cable inside the bax was just fine. Maybe the gold will make it run faster, but I doubt it.

Great product. Super fast and really durable. It's pretty long but I suppose that's better than too short.
