The Softie Mount & Camera Clamp Adapter Lyre (CCA) is designed for both boom-pole and camera mounting. The CCA replaces the Boom Adapter and features a smooth cylindrical shape for securing to camcorder microphone clamps. A 3/8" threading is provided at the base for boom-pole mounting. The rubber Softie Mount absorbs shock and features a medium hole that accommodates microphones with 19-24mm (0.74 - 1") diameters.

I bought this because I wanted something I could use on a boompole and on my camera. I haven't tried this on my boompole yet, but on the camera it worked very well. I especially like that there is a notch cut out of the part that clips into the camera's mount to leave room for the hinge. The only issue I had is on my camera (DVC30) I had to remove the rubber inserts on the microphone mount to get the Lyre mount in there, but the camera's mount was basically useless anyway. I use this with a softie windjammer but it looks like it would work with a blimp system as well. Very versatile

I purchased this item to reduce camera noise and to properly hold a Sennheiser ME66 microphone on a Sony PMW-EX1. It works well. The Softie mount is a great design and I can use it on a boom-pole when the occasion arises.
