Sigma 15mm f/2.8 EX DG Diagonal Fisheye Autofocus Lens for Sony Alpha Mount USA

The 15mm f/2.8 EX DG Diagonal Fisheye for Sony Alpha from Sigma is a full-frame fisheye auto focus lens that fills the entire 35mm negative with a full 180° diagonal field of view. This unique lens enables you to create a variety of unusual compositions even when shooting ordinary subjects.

The improved DG lens coating reduces flare and ghosting, which is a common problem of digital cameras, and also creates an optimum color balance.

Since most Digital SLR cameras use a smaller image sensor size (APS-C) than 35mm film cameras, 180 degree angle-of-view can not be obtained with Digital SLR cameras. With those cameras only the center part of the frame is used, therefore, peripheral distortion will be very small.

The super wide angle of this lens makes it ideal for use with digital SLR cameras, providing a focal view of approximately 23mm.

Accepts removable gelatin filters in a holder near the rear of the lens
Optical material used in this new lens are lead and arsenic-free ecological glass

Comments about Sigma 15mm f/2.8 EX DG Diagonal Fisheye Autofocus Lens for Sony Alpha Mount:

I use the lens on my SONY A99. I am very satisfied with the image corner-to-corner sharpness and contrast . Solid metal construction like in all Sigma f/2.8 glass. Focusing ring moves easily and precisely.
Effective use requires practice but with some experimentation the results can be very interesting.

Comments about Sigma 15mm f/2.8 EX DG Diagonal Fisheye Autofocus Lens for Sony Alpha Mount:

I bought this lense to use it with my Sony A99.

The lense works great and delivers great image quality even on the high-end body. I was skeptical about sigma, now I will be very happy to consider them in the future.

It takes some time to get used to the lens. I had a few showing hands or feet at first.
I definitely provides a different look. It could be easy to overuser this lens.

Keep in mind that you have get really close to the subject to get a great picture in many cases 3ft or less

Comments about Sigma 15mm f/2.8 EX DG Diagonal Fisheye Autofocus Lens for Sony Alpha Mount:

Nice fisheye lens -- very light but sturdily built. On full-frame, it does 180 degrees diagonally. On smaller sensors, it only does 120 degrees. Generally a fun lens to play with and very good for landscapes -- quite sharp even when wide open.
