If you are hearing a lot of noise and you think it's this cable, but you paid less than $100 new for your microphone, it is probably your mic. I just got one of these today, and with a Shure PG48 mic I hear a lot of rattling noise, but with a Sennheiser e835 mic, I don't. That's because more expensive mics have soundproofing inside that reduces handling noise. Otherwise, it's the perfect length for interviews with a Zoom and holds tight. We'll see how it does long-term.

I run the theater tech in my school's theater. I use this to run my iPod through our sound grid, so I can listen to my music while I hang lights, build sets, etc. I wouldn't recommend it for shows or other pro audio, the signal quality just isn't good enough.

I bought 2 of these and one got very noisy in a short period of time by treating it like a normal cable. Its cheap you have to be careful with it and it will do ok for a time. Not recommended for a long term solution though.
