I'am a musician and I bought this product to improve the quality of my home studio recordings.

      I used this setup:
Guitar/Amplifier/Mics/any kind of instrument plug in to the Behringer Eurorack UB1202FX (a very affordable 12 input mixer with onboard effects)send it through the MAIN OUT (L and R) plug (1/4" TS phone) conectors of the mixer to the UNBAL IN of the FCA202 Firewire Interface.
Then just link to the PC via Firewire..
      and voilà!
      It works like a charm!

Right now I'm mainly using it with Ableton Live 8 and It's pure pleasure to work with so much flexibility (low latency adjustments in a blink) and astounding sound quality.
It's really "Plug, hit record button and play"

I've also tried it with Adobe Audition, Sony Sound Forge and Grass Valley Canopus EDIUS 5 (Video Editing Software) and it worked perfectly (didn't have any issues with the drivers). Also read that works fine with Cubase, Sonar, Acid

It shows as a 2nd sound board on your Pc when its plugged., and you have to select it in your Multitrack recorder in order to hear some sound from it (obviusly)

      Anyway..
I totally recomend this product. It's well made (nothing plastic, all metal), sturdy, light, compact, great sound quality,etc..
      and REALLY REALLY CHEAP!

Ideal for musicians who wants to record at home (or anywhere!) with incredible satisfactory results.

I know that there is a lot of people that actually HATE Behringer products, but so far they didn't dissapointed me at all..
In fact, you get MORE than you pay for (in terms of quality and performance).

I have a few Behringer products and I'm liking it more and more as time goes by.. Great brand!

I purchased a Behringer Shark several years ago and was
satisfied with the usefulness and quality of the product.

So when I needed a new audio interface for my mac, I chose the
firewire interface since so many people have had problems
with USB audio interfaces. It works well on my PC so far:

Mac Blue and White 400MHz running OS 10.4.11 with the
firewire extension rolled back to 10.4.9 (found at UK stie).

This unit is 24-bit only! My mac just can't keep up even though the CPU
never says it is being used above 80%. It does not work with the built
in firewire. . .pops and clicks on playback. It plays back on the PCI
firewire card 95% of the time. Strange to say. . .it records perfectly!

I will repeat that. . it records perfectly on a G3 mac. . .but I must
playback through the macs built in audio. I have tried everything
in Audio MIDI Setup but nothing seems to stop the clicking and pops.
I would think that playback would be easier to accomplish than recording.

Build quality is great. . full metal. The TS input (unbalanced) and
TRS output (balanced) are plastic. The firewire cable is beefy. The
blue LED lights the room - maybe a bigger LED resistor is in store
      after the warranty is done.

The noise floor is not as good as expected for a 24-bit audio interface.
The PC seems to generate about 6dB more low level noise than the Mac.
The PC is around -78dB and the Mac is around -84dB. That is what I
expect from a 16-bit audio interface. My old Soundblaster USB produces
-65dB and it is 10 years old.

I expect many years of service even with the limitations. When I upgrade
my Mac G3 I expect the playback click to be gone. I had hoped that being
a firewire device there would be zero issues with the audio bandwidth. I
still would like to purchase the MOTU 8pre but budge doesn't allow. Next
best I/O would be the Mackie ONYX 820i. Just two on the top of the wish
list if the economy gets better.

Comments about Behringer FCA202 FireWire Interface:

As long as your pc isn't drained by extra quality audio this will keep your timing as low as 37ms or lower depending on your system performance.

This interface is strait forward and simple enough for entry level audiophiles. I use FL Studio without even so much as a hiccup. At the end of my mixing and playing, I turn all the options to max as output would let me. The end result is mixed to level consistent to year 2000+ studio quality sound.

The durability of this control module is questionable. I have owned my unit for 2.5 years and have returned to this site to purchase a new one as my old one's monitor volume knob has glitched out and occasionally looses the left channel. I have to mess with the knob to get it back to normal, only to realize after an hour that the left side is missing 20% of the total volume. Very irritating when mastering stereo effects.

Over all, this card has rocked my computer hard and pushed my musical clarity to a new level (for home mixing). I am disappointed, slightly, at the durability, but looking back I used that volume knob way too much. My next unit should last until heir loomed to my son.

Comments about Behringer FCA202 FireWire Interface:

I am in the voiceover industry. This unit works great on a MACBOOKPRO. With compatiibility and USB 3.0 being an issue with many devices the FCA202 FIREWIRE AUDIO INTERFACE bridges the gap quickly and easily. Plug and play operation sound for an incredible price with great sound quality. The headphone jack and volume control are on the front of the unit for easy access. A bargain.

Comments about Behringer FCA202 FireWire Interface:

For years, my DAW has been outfitted with a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS which has a tiny bit of latency when recording into Acid Pro - an annoyance but easily corrected in the program, since I can hear everything in real time, a necessity for multi-track recording. I was hoping that this Firewire interface would eliminate the latency, but I never got that far because the delay was absolutely horrible just trying to listen through it in real time. I played a note on my piano, and it was a half second before I could hear it despite adjusting the latency setting, and that was with the headphones plugged right into the interface. I have a Behringer mixer/amp that works great, but this product was a real letdown.

The only con is that I had to buy another firewire cable since the ones that came with it do not match up with the MacBook Pro...needed a 9 to 6 pin cable.

I use this item in order to make my KORG Microkey 37 function smoothly, and it really works for my midi controller, I have latency problem on my midi controller before. After I use this FCA202, I can reduce the latency almost 0 latency..The great thing about this product is it doesn't use power adapter even though it included, it is because once the firewire cable connected to my computer, it automatically ON when I switch on my computer. The only loophole of this item is, the AC is 120V which is not suitable for Malaysia (AC 220-240V).

Comments about Behringer FCA202 FireWire Interface:
