The Hoya 77mm Introductory Filter Kit is a general purpose starter kit.
Ultraviolet (UV) Filter
Hoya Haze (UV) Filters are wise investments. They help protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs.
Circular Polarizing Filter
Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.
Warming Filter (Intensifier)
The Hoya Warming filter controls the bluish coloration that affects daylight film. They can also remove excessive blue from the effects of electronic flash. Reduces blue to green color and makes the color of human skin look more sun-tanned. Combination with Pro 1UV filter is recommended for outdoor shooting.
Note! Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems and video cameras).

I got the 3-filter kit when I bought a new lens. I am very happy with this product. I keep the UV filter on the lens at all times. I also use the polarizer filter frequently for flowers, sky, landscapes. It attaches to the UV filter with no problems. Polarizer works well and can be adjusted easilly to control the amount of polarization effect. I have not used the warming filter yet, but will. The nylon case is very nice and has room for four filters. The price of the kit is a great deal, you basically get a case and one and a half filters for free. The images appear good and clear to me, but I have not compared it with a more expensive filter.

I first of all wanted a filter, UV or plain glass, to protect my new Canon 24-70 f/2.8L lens from dust and scratches. I've also wanted a circular polarizer to bring out the colors more in scenery shots.
This kit provided both and threw in a warming filter, more or less for free if you look at the prices of separate filters. It also comes with a protective sleeve to store the filters in.
The filters work well. The CP filter reduces the incoming light by about two stops, I'd say. Polarization adjustment is easy enough, although unfortunately it's also quite easy to unscrew the filter from the lens if you forget which way to turn the polarizing ring!
I haven't tested the UV filtering properties of the UV filter, but as a lens protector it works very well, which is what I wanted it for. I've used the warming filter once and it does the trick (warm the colors), but honestly I doubt if I'll use it much since the same effect can be achieved so easily in Photoshop, especially when shooting in RAW.
The protective sleeve has a reflective inside to protect the filters' coatings. Its padding could be a little thicker for my liking. The filters (especially the more expensive CP filter that's usually in there when the UV is on the camera) don't feel very safe.
The sleeve has four compartments, so if one filter is on the camera, you have two spare spaces to add filters later on.

Extremely good set of filters for the money. I am using this set on my Nikkor 80-400. They are machined well and the glass contains no aberration or distortion in both image and color. They are easy to clean and so far have proven to be very scratch resistant.

Not a bad kit but I also purchased with a wide angle lens and this was listed as an option. The problem is when the lens is wide open you get dark edges I assume from hitting edges of filter.
I kepted anyway and will buy a thin cir pol. and thin style filters to with this WA lens if shooting with low F stop.
You can always crop and it is less noticable at F8

As a first time filter user, I am happy with this kit. I will be moving onto other filters later down the road, which will give me better insight into these filters. I have noticed that the warming filter did not have a noticeable effect. But, for a beginner, this filter kit is very good and I would recommend it to others. The kit with the neutral density filter instead of warming filter would have been my other choice instead of this filter.

Comments about Hoya 77mm Introductory Filter Kit:
WHY THIS IS A GOOD DEAL:I recently bought a new wide angle lens (Tokina 11-16 F2.8; which on a side note is also amazing lens for the price) and the salesperson convinced me to buy a the Hoya UV HMC filter to protect the lens (you would be crazy to not use ANY filter to protect your lens from scratches!). She said that Hoya was one of the best, so I took her word for it and paid [$] (Canadian). From experience with smaller filter sizes I know that a polarized filter and a warming filter will run at least this much or more per filter (esp. for the polarized filter). I was surprised to find this set of three filter's for only $10 more (the cost of shipping) at B&H! I promptly returned the original filter and ordered this set.The order came in about a week and I was happy to find that instead of the hard plastic case that single filters are sold in, this set shipped in a flexible fabric case, with room for a forth filter. This is a benefit for me as I am now traveling in India and I am happy to be rid of the bulky plastic cases. The fabric case fits well in my backpack.REVIEW OF THE FILTERS:UV filter: Standard UV filter, no vignetting.Polarized Filter: Works just like other circular-polarizing filters; rotating the ring brings out details in the sky and removes reflections. The only issue that I have with this one is that the extra girth does cause some very minor vignetting at the widest zoom. Not a big deal, but I do not like losing part of my shot so this is a minor disappointment. I am under the impression that a more expensive and slimmer polarized filter might be out there, but it is probably not necessary for the average photographerWarm filter: I haven't used this one too much. It seems to do what it is supposed to do, but I don;t have much experience. I would have happily paid the price I did for the first two filters so this one is a minor bonus that might find it's way into my repertoire. No vignetting on its ownCombining Filters=Vignetting: My standard setup on my other, smaller, lenses (I carry 3 in addition to my wide angle) is to have the UV always on for protection, and then swap one polarizing filter between them by screwing it on top of the UV filter. That way there is never a time where the actual lens face is exposed and unprotected. This has never caused any problems for me and I have never had vignetting. This setup DOES NOT work out so well with this set on a wide angle lens. The "girthy-ness" of the filters results in vignetting with ANY combination of filters in this set. This is especially pronounced if one of those filters happens to be the polarizing filter. The amount of vignetting is such that I prefer to swap the UV filter with the other filters. This means a small window when the lens is exposed to the possibility of being scratched. It also slows me down if I want a different filter. For the price I paid for the filters, I can live with the hassle, but this is something to consider. I think that if your lens is not a wide angle, you will not likely be affected by this. If you do have a wide angle and you think this will be a big deal for you, it might be worth your while to look at the prices of a slimmer filter set to see if the cost is worth it for you.CONCLUSION:This is a great buy, and I have no regrets. Much cheaper than in the stores here in Canada. I think that in the future I will always buy my filters online. The vignetting is a pain, but I probably would not want to pay more for slimmer filters. Worth every penny! 5 stars.

Excellent all-in-one deal.
UV filter stays on as default unless using the polarizing, which did a really nice job during the day and sunshine and panoramic outdoor views with sky and water.

When I bought a new (and expensive) lens I decided to buy this kit for the most often used filters in the 77mm size. I stuck the Skylight filter on the camera and put the folding case with the other filters in my bag and pretty much forgot about them for at least a month or two until last week when I needed to use the Polarizing filter for an outdoor shot. As soon as I started to mount the filter to the lens it came apart in three pieces. To add insult to frustration the thing was very greasy and soon there was a mess on everything. [...]I've always been pleased with Hoya filters in the past and will buy them in the future but the polarizing filter supplied in this kit ([*]) does not seem to be of the same quality as my 67mm Hoya polarizing filter. There is a lot of play between the two halves of the filter as though the incorrect size retaining ring was used or the parts are just not made to very close tolerance. The nylon case for these filters is decent but it does not fit inside any of my camera bags very well. I think most people would be just as happy with individual hard cases as many camera bags have pockets or compartments for filters built in.
