Comments about Nikon UR-5 Adapter Ring:
Like all Nikon products, this ring is durable but easy and intuitive to use.
I just wish I didn't need it.

Comments about Nikon UR-5 Adapter Ring:
I don't have to have it, but good to have one to protect 60mm 2.8D Macro lens from excessive mechanical wear. Item is well made, simple, and cosmetically matching with lens. I am using every time I use 60mm Macro lens and feel like focusing mechanism of my lens is well protected.

Comments about Nikon UR-5 Adapter Ring:
You have to use this with Nikon's 60mm macro lens. The close-up lighting system puts to much strain on the focusing elements within the 60 mm lens. The manual for the Nikon 60mm macro lens does touch on this and suggests you use this to keep your lens out of the repair shop. This works just for Nikon's 60 mm macro lens and the 85,105 and 200 mm macro lenses no not need it.

Comments about Nikon UR-5 Adapter Ring:
I have been using this UR-5 since the R1C1 kit released as I have an old Nikkor 60mm AF-D f/2.8 and want to do autofocusing. Even if you don't want to autofocus this lens, this UR-5 still useful as it put the weight of two SB-R200+Sx1 on lens barrel rather than on (front) lens thread. I bought another ones to use with a new R1C1 kit and as a spare part.
