Comments about AKG K 181 DJ - Professional DJ Headphones:
I just got the K181s last week and I'm trying them out at a gig tonight. From my one week with them I have to say I'm pretty impressed. The clarity from these headphones is great. You can hear the tracks your mixing with precision, and when only one source is playing it sounds as good as headphones this price should. The sound isolation is great and I think they'll do well tonight in a noisy club atmosphere to allow me to hear what I need to.
I'm using it with an Audio 4 DJ USB audio interface with my MacBook Pro and DJ using Traktor. The headphone amp is reasonably power enough to drive these well, with comfortable levels of sound. I haven't cranked them up all the way though, but I can imagine them sounds great still and your ears being the weak link in the chain.
The have a switch where you can change the acoustic characteristics from small room to large room, which frankly fells like a gimmick, though it does give the headphones a more cavernous sound. There's also a mono switch that makes the 'phones mono, obviously which may or may not be as useful depending on your needs.
My only reservations is that, even while they feel solid, the triple swivel joints are made of plastic. Time will tell if these things last, but luckily the headphones look modular -- meaning if anything broke it would be a simple matter to order a replacement piece and pop it in. The carrying case is a nice touch and should help them last a bit longer. The fold up about as compact at they reasonable can without putting in extra break prone joints. Also, they are fairly lightweight, with no ear strain after wearing them a few hours.
All in all I'd recommend these to any DJ that wanted controlled, defined bass, solid mids and light highs. A class act.

as a dj for years i have had many headphones some wore out and some stolen, non compared to the sound quality and comfort of the k181. from home studio to 50000+ watts dubstep to rock these are as crisp as you can ask for. hittin those basslines and keeping the highs undistorted all in one package. pricey but money well spent. B&H great website [...] i also give them 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the best headset for tweaking sound. The true sound comes through, no boosting or canceling, just the facts.
I use it for our web broadcasting, even with a lot of house sound, they do a good job of killing the outside noise.
Comments about AKG K 181 DJ - Professional DJ Headphones:
These headphones are amazing. They have a dead bass that will blow you socks off. These headphones are ideal for Djs because they ear padding can rotate 360 degrees. The best thing is probably the bass. Its awesome. you wont be disappointed.
