The Westcott 5' Octabank offers a medium size light source with a very even light spread with less than 1/2 stop light loss from center to edge. It has a silver interior, removable internal baffle and a removable exterior diffuser panel. The total weight is less than 4 lbs. The Octabank is constructed of specialized flameproof fabric near the light. There are speed rings that are interchangeable for the Octabank, available separately.
- Use this size for a 3/4-length adult portrait.

This 5' Octa works great and is very well made. It is made form a strong fabric that won't tear and comes with a nice carrying case. The only downside is it doesn't come with any spare poles.

I've read up on the Octobox and the way it evenly lights a subject. Now I've had a chance to see for my self and I am definately pleased with the softness of the light that is fast on my subject while retaining a nice amount of shadows.

The Octabank produces beautiful light. Not difficult to setup and the provided tilt adapter keeps the weight off the strobe. Seems durable so far. Used it outdoors to light a family of 4 with no problems.

If you're a headshot/portrait/lifestyle/editorial photographer and don't own an Octabank Softbox, BUY ONE!
It will push your photos to the next level. I was researching all the different types and brands of softboxes. I landed on the Westcott 5' Octabank and I am so glad I did! You can't beat the price. It was far less than some of their competitors. And like you, I always think if the price is cheaper, than am I buying a "cheaper" product? Well, in this case: NO! The construction and build quality is superior. It is made to withstand the elements of indoor and outdoor photography. I'm not saying to hop a plane and run into the Amazon Jungle with this thing, but normal use will be no problem.
I am a fan of Westcott Softboxes and Reflectors.
