With the Olympus PS-LBH1 W Battery Holder accesory, users can power the Olympus Evolt E-1, E-300 & E-500 Digital Cameras with three CR-123A batteries (batteries not included) instead of the BLM-01 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery. This is a great backup power option for your Olympus digital camera.

Comments about Olympus PS-LBH1 W Battery Holder:
Since the rechargeable batteries are no longer holding a charge, this battery holder for the Olympus E-500 will extend the life of a very good camera.

What took me so long. Pick up batteries at the super market. Hope all camera systems have this high quality essential.

Comments about Olympus PS-LBH1 W Battery Holder:
...Olympus (apparently) no longer makes the original battery pack. (I had the good sense to buy a second one last year.) Unless the laws have changed, this is in direct contradiction to Federal laws that requuire manufacturers to supply electrical/electronic components for ten years after a product has been discontinued.
Most cameras made in the last 40 years are dead in the water without the appropriate battery. Fortunately, button cells for most of the cameras using them are still available. Unfortunately, when a camera is powered by a custom Li-ion battery, and the manufacturer discontinues it, you're not far away from owning an expensive paperweight. Of course, the manufacturer will tell you that the camera is hopelessly obsolete, and now is the time to move up. Uh, manufacturer -- will you give me the full original price of the camera when trading in? Because you really should, you know.

Comments about Olympus PS-LBH1 W Battery Holder:
This product makes an excellent emergency back-up solution for extended field trips because the CR123 batteries used inside the holder have long shelf life and slow discharge rate.

Comments about Olympus PS-LBH1 W Battery Holder:
This is a near-necessity, and ought to be supplied with the camera. "It just makes sense" to be able to power the camera with disposable cells.
My only real gripe is that the tiny "ears" that hold the cover on are awfully small. Granted, even if you broke them off the cover would still fit -- and in fact, you don't even need the cover at all. Still, I'd appreciate somewhat sturdier construction.
Note that this battery holder will do you no good unless you put CR123A cells in it the moment it arrives, and store it in your camera case.

Comments about Olympus PS-LBH1 W Battery Holder:
Very useful product as it allows not relying only on rechargeable batteries, that can be good in places where power is not always available.
