Jobu Design Hot Shoe Double Bubble Level - Bull's-Eye Style

You Pay: $34.95

This Jobu-Design Double Bubble Level spirit level mounts into any flash shoe and features two joined spirit levels that are "bulls-eye" style, providing better direction information than a standard tubular level. This will help the photographer achieve a finer degree of accuracy in capturing image content.

Ideal for QTVR shooting sessions, for landscapes, or anytime a straight horizon is crucial.

All-metal construction is virtually indestructable, and guaranteed against breakage.

PROS: Rugged; great for horizontal shots with camera in "portrait" or "landscape" position.
CONS: Not useful for leveling a camera that is pointed straight down (for example, when taking a macro photograph of an object on a table from a camera mounted on a tripod with a horizontally-mounted center column), such as when photographing jewelry.
JOBU: You could considerably improve the utility of this level by providing another set of grooves (along the smooth side of the mount). Also, a small carrying case would be nice!

Comments about Jobu Design Bull's-Eye Double Bubble Level:

I like the build quality of this level, but fit so tightly in the hotshoe I was concerned with breaking the camera. I filed the edges of the level to slide in/out of the hotshoe easier, but shouldn't have to do this with a $ dollar level.

        Built Like a Tank

        By BMJ

        from Maryland

        Verified Buyer

Comments about Jobu Design Bull's-Eye Double Bubble Level:

This is extremely well built and even looks good by itself sitting on a shelf. The real usefullness comes from having the bubble-type levels, rather than tube type. One key use for me is shooting from waist high level without crouching or squating. Just frame and focus, then lower the camera at arms-length and level -- the top one if landscape, the side for portrait. This permits a perfect horizon without using the viewfinder and makes "short" pictures easy for flowers, landscapes, urban, etc.

I looked at quite a few of these babies and settled on this one. I am very glad that I did. It works wonders with my Nikon 45mm PC lens. Gets the job done right and looks good doing it. Buy one!

It's a level so not much to say. It works well and is easy to read. The fact that it's a metal case makes it much more durable than a plastic level.
