Comments about MXL 770 Cardioid Condenser Microphone:
Is a major key to my voice training system connected through iTrack Solo interface and a CD recorder. This
Condenser Microphone exceeded my performance expectations and is highly recommended if you have budget restraints.

Comments about MXL 770 Cardioid Condenser Microphone:
I use this Mic for just about everything and it hasn't skipped a beat. The bass response is massive and the option to add a high pass filter into brighten thins up makes recording a crystal clear track almost too easy. The noise cancellation is great especially for those high noise situations I constantly find myself in. The carrying case as well as the included shock mount make for a perfect on-the-go microphone. If you are looking for a great starter mic. look no further, this is the one to get. Heck, I bought two of them.

This mic is awesome. Great sound quality with almost non-existent feedback even with high gain! Great sound clarity. This microphone is an awesome, affordable asset to any home studio!

Comments about MXL 770 Cardioid Condenser Microphone:
Picked up two of these 770's for use in recording podcasts, as "guest" mics. Impressive sound quality, and feel nicely constructed.
There is a red warning regarding condenser mics and close proximity recording... suggests the purchase and use of pop filter or foam windscreen to keep from damaging ribbon.
Time, a good quality pop filter and common sense handling should tell. All in all, pretty nice (and quiet) sounding mic.

Comments about MXL 770 Cardioid Condenser Microphone:
I am a drummer and bought two of these mics for my overhead mic setup. They pick up the instrumentation very well...better than I thought. No tom mics, just snare, bass drum mics and overheads for the recording I was doing and the final product came out very well.

Comments about MXL 770 Cardioid Condenser Microphone:
Purchasing a microphone these days is very tricky. It depends on if you're using them for LIVE, RAW RECORDING STUDIO work (meaning no or minimal effects).
If you're going to be using the mic for vocals and instruments that will be augmented with today's powerful digital effects, just about any mic with a clean, undistorted sound will do and this MXL 770 is the perfect mic for actually both cases, LIVE (if you cannot afford the big-boy prices) and especially FX AUGMENTED RECORDINGS. I own four of these mics in our studio and I am very pleased with the sound. However, I would suggest spicing up your mic collection with one of the relatively inexpensive MXL tube mics for those meticulous recording situations.
