I use the D300AW to store my Nikon D80 (with a Nikkor 85mm f/1.8 attached) as well as an SB-800 speedlight, Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, extra EN-EL3e battery along with the charger, lens cleaning tools, and my Blackberry. I also have a Quantaray Nikon AF mount 70-300mm f/4-5.6 (it came as a freebie when I bought the D80), but it mainly gets used as a paperweight at home. That being said, this bag can hold a ton of gear safely. I would encourage anyone who needs more room from the D300AW to consider downsizing the amount of gear they carry. I have felt safe carrying $2000 worth of camera and tech gear with me at all hours of the day in various cities. All of my gear is easily accessible and still secure when my attention is elsewhere thanks to the construction of this bag. Good stuff.
What isn't so great about the D300AW is that the bag can get a bit cumbersome in tight quarters. But with the extensive amount of padding throughout the bag, this should not be a surprise to anyone. This is also the case for the weight of the D300AW. Worst-case scenario is that you plan ahead for a gig and take a smaller amount of gear in a lighter bag made for close quarters. Another problem that I encountered is that the shoulder pad on the strap isn't at a fixed position (obviously done so for the unique comfort of each individual) and can sometimes drift if you are bending over to take shots with the bag on your shoulder. Don't get me wrong, this "free-floating" shoulder pad is comfortable, but it isn't worth much if you are in a hurry and just try to throw the bag over your shoulder rather than lining it up. I have to say that all of these aforementioned cons are minor in scope and can be avoided by being more in tune with the situation and your own gear.
Overall, the Stealth Reporter D300AW is worth every dollar and then some for the photographer-on-the-go who wants supreme protection for their gear. Barring some random act of total destruction, I won't buy another bag.

For some reason I cannot fathom the larger the camera bag the less likely that LowePro will think to provide a waist strap or even belt loops. Get a Nova or other "amateur" bag and belt loops are included. Get a bag that will hold 15 pounds or more of camera gear and you get a mediocre shoulder strap to support 100% of the weight. Good construction and nice intermediate size for a single body with a full complement of lenses and a flash. If you really plan to carry a full size camera and 3-4 lens, one of which is likely to be a 70-200mm f2.8 lens, then continue looking and get something that has provision for a belt strap - and many exist including the LowePro Nova bags and their Pro Mag bag though it lacks a flap.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D300AW Bag:
I've been looking for a Lowepro bag that would hold all of my Canon PowerShot A650IS and it's stuff, & do it well, so I could just grab it & go. The Rezo 180 just didn't work out, no zippered split-top, too weighty and just not enough innerspace. The Stealth Reporter D300AW is absent of these shortcomings, comes with a media card binder, AND holds a Rezo 50 with the A650IS inside, two lenses & lens adapter, flashpod, AC power adapter kit, cleaning kit, all the manuals, a small tripod (upright, no less), and still has room left over. The All-Weather cover comes out easily and quickly. Along with the shoulder strap there is a waist strap. Pockets galore. Outside loops for lenses if you do the SLR/DSLR thing. Dedicated Pocket PC/Smartphone pocket with flap.
Look, read the reviews, visit the Lowepro site and if it's for you buy one from B&H. Rarely I pay a little more BUT I've never had a bad experience & the service is stellar.
Oh yeah: No, I don't work for B&H, Lowepro The Photo Mafia (?), & received no compensation.

I'm pleasantly surprised with this bag. It is very well designed, very practical and easy to use. Holds my D700 w/85mm attached, along with a 50mm, 35mm, flash and all accessories comfortably. Still have space for two more lenses.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D300AW Bag:
The D300 is not a very large bag, but it holds a lot of gear. There is room for my a900 with mounted CZ24-70 lens, 70-400G lens, 100 macro lens, 50/1.4 lens, -58 flash with case, cables remotes, manuals, memory cards, batteries, lens cleaning kit, notepad, and pass holders. Whew! There is a place for everything.
Side pockets would be nice to have.
Construction is good, but one of the stitches on a Velcro pad may unravel. However, since the various pads and partitions have been placed I am not worried.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D300AW Bag:
I have a Nikon D300 with a Nikkor 17-55 f2.8 attached plus a Nikkor 70-200 f2.8. Both lenses are stored with the hoods attached (inverted). I also keep a hand held JVC Everio video camera (in its case) in the bag. Plenty of room for a flash when I get one. I can also put my Kindle in the bag. The small bag for chargers, cords, etc is a nice accessory, as is the memory card storage wallet. The front accessory pockets are nice but I wish there were pockets on the side as well. Top zipper is ok for accessing small items, but difficult to get camera out. You are limited on moving the padded partitions around because of the placement of the Velcro strips on the interior. Some other bags are entirely lined with a material that Velcro sticks to so you have more placement options. Bag is constructed well. Overall, this is a very nice bag.

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D300AW Bag:
With the Lowepro Computrekker AW serving my "pack up everything and go" bag, and a small holster covering my "one lens and go" bag, I needed a new bag to cover the mid-range use and this fits the bill very well.
For starters, this feels very sturdy and rugged. Looks like it could easily shrug off some bumps and scrapes with little trouble. The zipper across the top is coated in a sort of rubber, helping to seal out the elements better than a traditional zipper (the AW cover certainly applies to this use as well), and the buckle very positively secures itself closed without being a pain.
This holds my Oly E-30 body, 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5, 25mm f/2.8 prime, and hotshoe flash perfectly well, along with a light pair of gloves for hockey games. I'm looking to soon add the 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 II as well and there should be plenty of room.
I sling the bag across my chest and it fits well with the strap lengthened almost all the way (I'm 6'6") The shoulder pad is quite comfortable. When I bought the bag I didn't even notice the memory card wallet in the description or in the bag itself, until I was pleasantly surprised a few days later. This is an enormous wallet (holds 12 cards), which seems a little overkill given today's memory card capacities, but you could easily also store a filter or other small items in here if you wanted. The strap across the back that allows it to secure to the handle of a rolling piece of luggage is a very nice touch.
On the negative side, there isn't a ton I've found wrong with this bag. It can get a little bulky or awkward at times but that's to be expected and it's never so much of a bother that it's disrupted me.
Overall it's a fantastic bag and you can tell a lot of thought went into it. Pockets where you need them and plenty of padding make for a great all-around bag!

I have a Canon 7D with Canon's 24mm 2.8, 50mm 2.5, 70-200mm 1.4 L IS, three lens hoods, 550EX Speedlite external flash unit, Gossen "Luna-Pac light meter, battery charger, filters, memory cards, extra batteries, and can still store the shoulder strap inside the bag.
I read some reviews indicating difficulty removing the camera from the top zippered opening. I have no trouble doing so with either the 24mm or 50mm lenses. The telephoto is too long to stand up while attached to the camera.
Construction is excellent. Bag is light weight and utilitarian.

This is my second stealth reporter bag only a little smaller for less gear or my son to use. they are great bags lots of pockets and storage. while it is difficult to get a pro body in and out through the top zipper I usually just push the lens through and have the body sitting on top of the cover ready to go. way more convenient than any other bag I've used. rain cover takes a few minutes to get on but is a life saver when you get stuck in bad weather

Comments about Lowepro Stealth Reporter D300AW Bag:
Holds all my gear and its a bag with all the bells and whistles. Even though I can pack my DSLR, 3-4 lenses & accessories, I think it could have even been a better bag, if it had a DUAL zipper with a single pull string on top of the bag instead of just the single zipper.
This would allow a WIDER OPENING on the top, to more easily pull out my DSLR with its attached lens and lens hood.
With the single zipper its a little tough pulling the camera out of the bag for a QUICK response to a shooting opportunity.
With that said, I give it 4-stars instead of 5.

The zipper opening on top is barely large enough to get camera through. The strap has a good amount of padding, making it comfortable to carry even with substantial weight.

I use it for my N 90 / D 70 camera with 1 lens attached and 2 extra lens and flash. Still has room for battery charger and film...
You want to get the next size bag up for proper fit.
The only other thing is there is room only for about 2 filters with the bag in the front pockets. You need to add the filter holder for more filters ... Required filters even for Digital is a Polazier and a ND filter.
Great bag I used it in Thailand and very happy with it.

Bought this for my Nikon D5000 and accessories. Bigger than it looks from the outside, it comfortably holds the camera body with 10mm-24mm lens attached, , my 18mm-55mm lens, Sunpak 383 flash and Nikon SB400 flash. I still have room to add another two lenses. The bag comes with a nice removable zipper bag to hold small accessories as well as more storage pockets on the outside of the bag. This Lowepro bag is well built and comfortable to carry.

I usually use a backpack to transport my gear in the field but needed something to help me keep all my gear together and to make sure I get everything I need to family events. Lots of pockets to organize and now I don't leave anything behind. Very well made as are the rest of my Lowepro bags.
