Comments about Tasco 8-24x25 Essentials Zoom Binocular:

We utilize the binocular in the utility industry to read meters that we cannot access either due to fences, dogs, snow or other obstructions. The binoculars allow us to read the meter from a distance. The zoom feature makes this a great tool for our employees and helps from a safety perspective to avoid hazards when attempting to access a meter.

Comments about Tasco 8-24x25 Essentials Zoom Binocular:

Pros: very inexpensive; objective diameter adequate for daytime use; zooms easily; class lenses with (rather minimal) coating, lightweight.
Cons: maximum magnification of 24x does not feel like 24x, more like 16x-18x; plastic construction, cheap materials throughout, would be much better with slightly bigger objective lenses.

This is an adequate binocular that one can take anywhere without thinking "I am carrying a 2000$ piece of glass". I bought it to keep a spare binocular in my other car. Just don't let them overheat, since the plastic may melt. Other then the obvious cheapness of the construction, there are no serious flaws: it zooms easily, although I do not believe that the claimed 24x is actually 24x, feels more like 16x or 18x; image is not dim (daytime, don't bother using these binoculars at night on anything but the Moon) and it is possible to keep the image more or less steady even at maximum magnification because of very light weight of these binoculars. Field of view is not spectacular but, at 8x is acceptable. Chromatic aberration (false color) is present but does not irritate. A solid 4 out of 5.

Comments about Tasco 8-24x25 Essentials Zoom Binocular:

This is good ratio of quality/price. For my purposes of watching birds it does enough for the money i paid. The main disadvantage is there is no possibility to mount to tripod. But that's ok for me, since I'm not gonna spend hours with this device.

Comments about Tasco 8-24x25 Essentials Zoom Binocular:

The build quality is quite good.
The binoculars are good between 8x thru 16x zoom range, beyond that you will have to have it tripod mounted to have a steady view. But there is no tripod socket. So very difficult to use it beyond 16x hand holding it.
But still a good buy for the price and for occasional users.

Comments about Tasco 8-24x25 Essentials Zoom Binocular:

Initially I expected these to be just basic binoculars and nothing too outstanding because of the low price, but man was I surprised! This is the best pair of binoculars I've ever owned and the ability to adjust from one viewing range to the other in addition to focusing, is just cool as it can be. You honestly can't go wrong with this pair...the price is unbelievable for such a great product. Well worth it and then some! Because of the size though, you may have trouble with glasses. I just took mine off and had no problems though. The focusing adjustment more than compensates for my near-sightedness.

This product has great zoom control. The focus control is easy to use. The adjustmet for eye differences is good. They are very lightweight and have a good case and strap. I use them for hunting and birdwatching. The only drawback is the field of vision.
