I use this to do time-lapse photos with my PowerShot, in place for days or weeks at a time. It works well, but is very bulky and not compact. The ferrite bead is HUGE, like bigger than a battery, seriously almost as big as the camera itself.

I find it a little unusual that you need a dummy battery in order to use this power adapter. It gets the job done with my SX230HS but I wish that there was a way to tighten up the connection with the camera.
