If you want a 7.1 speaker system, you want the best numbers the system can offer. Putting together an 8 ohm setup cheaply isn't easy. You want 8 ohm because it will draw less power from the amp which will let the amp/receiver run cooler which is a must for most amps/receivers since they tend to run hot burning out boards. We priced piecing together a speaker setup for our Onkyo TX-NR709 receiver at $500 to $800 and most out of the box systems were 6 Ohm or less. The Onkyo SKS-HT540 package is a perfect match for the NR709 receiver. The sound is clear and crisp with no crackle at all. Going with 8 Ohm reduces power output to the speakers but they will still blow you away if you crank it up. For the standard home theater system, it is simply the best bang for buck you can get and I could not believe I got this speaker package delivered to my door for the sweet price of $[$]. No one could touch the price anywhere. If you want this for a DJ setup, you will not want to sacrifice the power for a cooler running amp and sound clarity, these are not DJ speakers but still pack a punch. The only thing to keep in mind is that the speakers themselves do not take banana jacks, they take the speaker wire directly. This is nice for a wall mount setup, but for the front speakers, I would have preferred a banana jack input, but I won't begrudge that. There also isn't much need for 7.1 surround sound just yet, but it still sounds awesome in our 25' by 15' living room when you have a blue ray that has 7.1 audio. Every seat in the room has crystal clear sound with 7 speakers around the room. I could go on, but for those that want clear sound without stressing their receiver, this 8 Ohm package simply is the best.

These speakers are larger than the tiny Bose systems, however, at a fraction of the cost, the sound is fantastic! I upgraded from a five-year-old "home theater in a box" system, and I can't believe what I was missing out on-rich, deep base during movie watching and clear, crisp audio. In the past, my husband and I often had trouble understanding the audio, because it was drowned out by all of the other sounds, but we haven't had to stop and rewind once, since purchasing this system. The front speakers do not have mounting holes or brackets on them, and I didn't want to drill into the speaker boxes, so I purchased some clamp mounts online (about [$] for the pair), and I used heavy duty mounting tape to further secure them within the mount. The speakers look great.This system is used in our "bonus room", which is about 20'x20'.

I have these speakers connected to a Yamaha RX-V571 7.1 receiver. The sound quality is fanatastic. The system is located in our family room which is fairly large. The speakers sound crisp and clear and have an overall good frequency range.

This product words great in my living room. I can hear it all throughout my house and it sounds so amazing! I would recommend this sound system to anybody...plus you can't beat it's incredible price! :D

I love this speaker system! I haven't been able to set up in 7.1 only been using this system as a 5.1 so I wish I could hear it at its full potential but the sound from this system is awesome.

I am very pleased with this product. The shipping box was beat up a little on the surface, but it is very well packaged so there was no damage. These speakers are connected to an Onkyo HT-RC360 and are doing a great job. Although the included speaker wires were nice to have, I opted for a lower gauge wire for less loss.

Bought the speakers teamed them up with my Panasonic 7.1 surround sound receiver.. Easy to setup and sounds GREAT!!!! Makes movies as good as being the the theater!

Really good speakers at a really good price. I have to say they are perfect for my fairly large apartment. The sound is fantastic. I have them hooked up to a Pioneer VSX-1020-K 7.1 Receiver and it puts out enough sound that I'm nervous the police might stop by and ask me to turn down my music (I don't, of course, keep it turned up for extended periods of time - just enough to immerse myself in the music for a while). Does great with everything I've put it through so far - CD's, iPod, Blue Ray, X box, TV (including great-sounding hits during football games), and even running the sound out of my computer through the AV in. Probably not what you're looking for if you want to fill up a large home theater, but just right if you want good quality surround speakers for most living rooms.

Setup in a smallish room, so we didn't really need a ton of power, but these more than deliver. While a little on the larger side, the quality of the sound is more than worth it. I would just recommend getting METAL wall mounts if you are going to wall mount these. Easy to setup, but you are going to need more speaker wire than is provided if you are doing any real world setup in my opinion. But this is no big deal as speaker wire is nothing.

Overall satisfied with the purchase. Using as 7.1 paired with Yamaha receiver. I am not an audiophile, sounded pretty good though.

B&H is GREAT and this speaker system is "OUTRAGEOUS" and super "painless" to set up and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it for the average sized living room/home theater room! Paired with the Onkyo TX_SR608 the combination is nothing short of "PHENOMENAL"!

I was honestly surprised at the price of these.
While you can get better power, the price is hard to beat on a 7.1 system. The quality is excellent. The sub could be a bit stronger, but for a couple hundred bucks... forget about it!
A great deal even if you are only looking for a 5.1 setup.

I set these up in a 20x14 room, I am only using 5 speakers plus the sub right now because thats what my receiver offers.(onkyo tx-sr507) With this set up the bass is clean and the surround sound is clean and impressive. Not great for music but ideal for movies.

Bought these thinking they were cheap and would work for now and I would replace them with better ones later. After hearing them I think I'll stay with them, hooked them to my Onkyo TX-RS508 receiver and WOW! Movies sound great, music is awesome, I have no complaints they are a great product for the money.

Purchased these speakers for the 7.1 surround sound use with new Onkyo TX-SR875. Intended to incorporate my Bose 901 speakers as the front right and left but discovered they could not be used with the 875. These speakers sound great on their own and are a lot for the $.

These speakers are hooked up to my Onkyo SR-605 and they sound great! Bass output from the subwoofer is astounding. All the speakers have great range & for the price, you can't buy better speakers.

I purchased this due to the price, to replace another television's aging, and never that great, satelite speaker 5.1 system.

This was a big improvement. The Onkyo 606 receiver handles them pretty well.

This is a decent system for the price, much better than what I had on the teleivsion previously. Don't expect anything too special from this system, however it's worth the price I paid.

The Sub-woofer sounds pretty good. One of the better parts of the package.

If you don't want to put together your own surround sound system, buying individual speakers, and want something to start with, or simply upgrade a second television in the house to surround sound, this set will work pretty well.

Not a "cheap" system, though it is inexpensive.
