Got this baby set up in a large heavily furnished room with cathedral ceiling and it rattles everything. My only gripe is that according to Onkyo tech support, it still draws 50-100 watts when in standby mode. At about 10 cents per KWH, that's up to two bits per day or $90 per year to have it in my living room. Heck, I only paid [$] for it!! I put a lamp timer on it to turn it off overnight so that helps some.....I'll never remember to turn it on/off and my receiver doesn't have a switched outlet I could plug it into.

As an owner of both models, I can honestly say the 150W SKW-200 beats the big brother, the SKW-204. The reason is the design of the cabinet- the 200 is on stilts, with the bare speaker cone facing right out of the bottom, moving plenty of air. The 204 is on short feet, but the bottom is closed and the cone is mounted on a side of the cabinet, with only a small port on the front (which the 200 also has) to move the air. The result- no punch. Sorry.
Problems Encountered: Muddy, floppy bass.

Although at fist I was not pleased with the bass level that I got. I found that it was not the fault of the unit but just setup tweeks I needed to do. I had to raise the db level of the subwoofer output and setup the two front speakers as small just like the two rear speakers on my Yamaha AV receiver. After that the bass sounds would go to the subwoofer and not the maim speakers. The unit did a great job of producing bass sounds after that .

I replaced another Onkyo subwoofer with this one and I must say the bass is much deeper and fuller than my previous one. At low volume it is just enough and at high volume you can feel it. I know the sound quality is not up to par with the more expensive subs but it does the job for me.

It does take a little "tweeking" to get set up right; but, well worth the trouble. I love it! Of course, I have never had anything but good experiences with Onkyo equipment.
