Comments about Print File Hanger Spine (Bar), Letter Size, Plastic - 25 Pack:
Our office is beginning to catalog and digitize our film archive. Part of that effort involves converting boxes of flat files into hanging files. Having ordered and tested these hanger spines as well as the "general brand" metal spines, there are a few important differences.
These spines are relatively broad and thick. This is good if you're hanging clear sleeves with no label, as you can simply write with a marker on the spine itself. No labels needed. This is a bad thing if you're trying to maximize your storage space. 25 of these spines take up ~60mm of drawer space. More than twice that number of metal spines fit in a 60mm space. These spines are also considerably more expensive.
I would recommend this product to anyone who is not constrained for space or budget. These are also worth purchasing if the sleeves you're using are delicate. The plastic has no sharp edges, which may be a problem with metal spines.

Comments about Print File Hanger Spine (Bar), Letter Size, Plastic - 25 Pack:
These are great for hanging negative sleeves. The metal type make for a more compactable file. The plastic is lighter. The white plastic looks cool too; when they are placed next a white Macbook. These can melt and disintegrate over the years. But mostly used in conjunction with acid free storage files, these things can last several years, maybe even hundreds of years.

Comments about Print File Hanger Spine (Bar), Letter Size, Plastic - 25 Pack:
I've been using Print File slide pages and these hangers for well over a decade. With these optional Hanger Bars over 20 years of professional editorial shooting is archived in filing cabinets. It's the best way, still to edit and file slides in this digital world.
