        Not durable

Comments about Quantum Instruments CS5 Cable for Sunpak:

The sheath on my CS5 started failing in less than a year with very little use. In several places, both in the straight sections and in the curly part, the black sheath is falling off, exposing the wires within. This is alarming considering the high voltage that the Quantum battery packs are passing throught this cable.
For the price they charge for this cable this is unacceptable.
I bought a Sunpak cable for their T2000 battery pack and modified the round connetor to match the arrangement used by Quantum (removed two pins and grounded one pin to the connector shield). If you are not comfortable with my solution, you might try the PM-CS5 made by Paramount. I have no experience with it, but it can't be any worse than the Quantum cable and costs less. By the way, the Sunpak cable that I use is less than have the price of the Quantum and still looks like new after many hours of use.
