I use this connector with my 580ex2 flashes. I have used other connectors for my 580's and nothing compares to the improvements they have made on the new cable. first of all it has a built in lock that prevent the connector from falling out of the flash. They used to have a little plastic clamp that I have lost and replaced several times. Anyway compared to what I was using to the one dramatic change and major improvement I bought all new flashes -6 in all and replaced all my connectors.

I don't like the cord coming out of the battery area and having to put velcro to hold the door down. The 580EX II flash is expensive enough without having to worry about breaking the battery comparment door off. I could not find any way to take the door off the flash when using the MB2. It does recycle the flash very quickly. I already had the battery pack so I got it.

Comments about Quantum Instruments MB2 Flash Connection Cable:
I shoot scene photographs for a medical examiner's office and need lots of power to run my flash. This product functions as required and I would recommend it in combination with the flash, and battery pack.

This works great. I had a little trouble figuring out which way the cord plugged into the battery compartment, but once I got it right no problems.

Comments about Quantum Instruments MB2 Flash Connection Cable:
I use this during weddings and find it invaluabe in switching from regular AA's and the Quantum battery.I had an old one which required a hard plastic clip to fasten it to the flash ... but the thumb dial lock on the unit eliminates any fumbling around when time is of the essence.

Comments about Quantum Instruments MB2 Flash Connection Cable:
Used with a 3rd party battery to power my new Canon speedlight 580EX II.
The cable has a nice secure locking jack and the insert fits into the flash unit easily. tightening mechanism for the module is easy to set.
The only criticism of this is the way in which the door of the flash is closed after the module is inserted. The velcro works to a point, but invariably comes loose. This a a joint issue between the design of the flash and the cord thickness used in the module.
Works great to power my 580EX II!

Comments about Quantum Instruments MB2 Flash Connection Cable:
I'm using these connectors with a 3rd party battery for my Canon 580EX II flashes. The secure connection to the battery is great. The battery connector seats securely in the compartment. One note is that the door to the battery compartment has to be slightly modified for the cable, otherwise you can leave the door open.

Instructions were simple and once installed was very reliable! Good construction and the cord itself doesn't interfere that much between the battery and the flash.

Comments about Quantum Instruments MB2 Flash Connection Cable:
I needed to power a canon 580 flash off ac power and couldn't find any canon product to do this. The MB2 in combination with a 5V 5 Amp power supply did the trick. The battery door needs to remain open, but the MB2 has 2 tabs to hold it in place.
