Comments about Anton Bauer ElightZ On Camera Light - 6 VDC:
This light is not for pro use. The lens bezel is plastic and clips in for easy lamp replacement. The unit I received had a broken lens keeper ring and appeared to be assembled wrong at the factory. A call to support was answered promptly and they sent the parts so I could repair it. The camera shoe is a poor design and will come separated from the 1/4 x 20 screw. The shoe will be lost sooner or later. The system is 6 volts and limited to a 10w lamp.

Comments about Anton Bauer ElightZ On Camera Light - 6 VDC:
It's great to finally have a light that is practical and sturdy enough to leave on a small camcorder all the time. This is a great solution, and I appreciate the ability extend and raise/lower the light very easily, depending on circumstance.
The filters work well, but in the field, if changing light environments, it is time-consuming and challenging to have to fiddle with little gels and tiny rubberbands. We might get the filter holder.

Comments about Anton Bauer ElightZ On Camera Light - 6 VDC:
Just did a bar mixer at the Triq in Las Vegas, NV, and the ElightZ worked like a dream! The construction of the light, while plastic, is very strong. The joints worked smoothly but held the light in place all night. They provide a little wrench if the ElightZ joints loosens up, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to loosen for a while. My favorite part is watching guys (and an occasional gal) use on camera lights and have to wear a belt pack, or have obnoxious battery bricks hanging off the camera. I, on the other hand, have batteries for both camera and light as one single undermount unit, and the deep blue accents of the ElightZ system got a lot of attention. My only complaint was that once I went to a three shot, I felt the light could have been just a tad more powerful. I used diffusion to soften the light and expand the angle, and for the most part, every shot was very well lit. I never would use this light raw, so thanks to Anton Bauer for giving so many diffusion options. I shot 35 minutes of tape while on standby for over two hours, and had about 50 minutes of light time, without a recharge. I went hand held the entire night, without any adapters or camera handle mounts, and felt very comfortable. I'd still like to try the Anton Bauer handle, which I think will come in handy in the future. I can't say enough about ElipZ and ElightZ! If you need to enter the world of ENG style videography, don't even bother considering another light package -- go with the ElipZ / ElightZ system.
