Remember when you got your laptop and the batter lasted like...hours!? Yes, before your battery bulged like a fat man in a skinny suit (google "mbp battery bulge" to see what I'm talkin about)
Just before mine bulged, the battery life was 2 hours max. Now, with the new one, I'm back to 4-6 hours (depending on what I'm doing...and I'm doing a lot!...Cinema4D, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, design everything, I do it...and now, for longer.
Great battery, get one!

Weird, but this battery has a life time of 2 years... begins charging less, then begins to inflate and affects the trackpad.
I would not buy it any more, but my Macbook need the battery.

As with most macbooks, the battery on mine began to bulge, followed by a shorter charge life, followed by a completely non-functioning battery. Obviously, this is an important item, but often a pricey investment. I was so relieved to see that B&H was able to provide a high quality Apple brand battery, at a lesser price. Also, I really appreciated the free shipping! Apple makes great products, but all need to be replaced at some point. And this is a great battery to replace it with.

The battery life on these have been great, but the one that shipped with this mac was recalled, and the replacement just started bulging a couple weeks ago.
The computer is 5 years old and reaching the point of obsolesence, but it's still a work horse for my office when our other macs are busy rendering. Can't give it 5 stars since the last two batteries didn't just lose their charge but were potentially dangerous.

My original MacBook Pro battery provided more than 5 years of continuous, reliable service, so naturally I was dismayed when it finally succumbed to bulging battery syndrome. I spent the better part of two days researching replacement batteries. Without exception, they all had a mix of glowing praise and horror stories; however, ALL of the favorable reviews were posted soon after purchase. None of them reported the performance of the batteries even as long as 1 year after purchase.
For me, the Apple battery is a known quantity. I can't argue with 5+ years of great performance. If I get the same service out of another Apple battery, it will have been well worth the cost of not buying an el cheapo that dies after a year or two...or less.
