Comments about Velbon Sherpa 600RF Tripod Legs:

Good legs, a little flimsier than than the original Velbon "Chaser" I have, but I was looking for lighter weight anyway. I was mainly replacing the legs (leg lock broke, one slightly bent leg, head still going strong), and having an extra head would be a plus. But the 600RF head wouldn't tighten down, no matter which position. It had at least 1/8" rattling play in it. (I checked reviews around the web and found at least one other person commented on this flaw.) I compared the parts with my original PH-157 head which is still tight as a drum after a decade or more - new version just not made as well (as most things these days). Couldn't justify the price of the 600RF for just the legs, using my old head. So I returned it. I was afraid of just exchanging it for another one, lest it have the same defect, so I got the Slik 500DX instead. As always, B&H customer service was great about it, and paid the return shipping, recognizing the loose head as a defect.

Comments about Velbon Sherpa 600RF Tripod Legs:

Wonderful tripod. Smooth head movement for video for such a small tripod. Really lightweight. Had this tripod for about 4 years can't remember when I bought it but the leg just fell out this week and it's past warranty. I'd buy it again and will try to get the leg replaced that's how much I like this tripod.

Comments about Velbon Sherpa 600RF Tripod Legs:

Nice quality, comes with a bag. The lack of a level kills this, especially when considering the strange head on the top. The tripod also has difficulties staying still, even when I tighten everything I can. Also, the head can disconnect from the rest of the tripod by swiveling, and it can become loose.
