This thing is lightweight, sturdy, and narrow. Narrowness is ESSENTIAL for people like me that use roof prism binoculars and have a narrow interpupilary distance (i.e. have to squish the optical tubes close together to get them to match up with my eyes). The narrow "stem" of this may lead to slightly more wobble or vibration than other designs, but for me the narrowness is needed due to the need to fully compress the optical tubes together. I highly recommend this product.

You might see my Vortex Binocular review as well. My only knock on these, to me, is a big one. I got the adapter with the flat blade thumb screw even though the picture looks like a round knob. It is nearly impossible to get my fingers between the lenses to tighten the screw to my binoculars therefore when on the tripod they are not stable. In my mind that is the reason to put them on a tripod for the stability. I gave them two stars only because they do work, they just don't work well at all. Wish I could recommend these but I can't.

Comments about Vortex Tripod Adapter (for Binoculars with a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket):

I use this to connect my 10x50 binocs to my tripod for stargazing.

It's pretty simple, and it does it. It's better than some other ones because the knob for the connection is thin, so with binoculars you don't have it limiting the the minimum distance between each eyes' lenses.

On the other hand, with the binoculars attached, the binocs swivel on the point of connection, which can be annoying.

              Overall, though, worth the money.

Comments about Vortex Tripod Adapter (for Binoculars with a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket):

The adapter does not come with a thumbscrew as shown in the image. Instead, it has a twist blade. My item was received with multiple nicks and dents possibly due to it being sold in a thin plastic bag. Overall, the surface finish is poor. Lastly, my 20X60 binoculars are easily twisted out of position due to the minimal surface contact of the adapter.

Comments about Vortex Tripod Adapter (for Binoculars with a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket):

This product works well for its intended purpose. I have used it with my Vortex Viper HD 15x50 binos to glass for game animals, and I have no difficulty sitting behind this setup for 8-12 hours a day. My biggest problem with it is that it is difficult to apply to the 15x50 binos because the space between the larger objective lenses is pretty tight, and it is difficult to get it screwed in because the knob is slightly too large for this application. If the knob were more narrow, it would save some frustration while applying this adapter. Overall it is a good adapter and well worth the money; it is just a little difficult to apply to a pair of binos with a large objective lens.

There is some play in the screw on attachment but that turned out to be an benefit when glassing on uneven ground.

I purchased the Vortex Viper HD 15x50 binoculars and this tripod adapter simultaneously. There is nothing structurally wrong with the adapter other than that it is difficult to attach to the 15- power binoculars because of the diameter of the 50mm objective lens. The tolerances are tight especially for individuals with larger fingers. The adapter can be attached and secures the binoculars well once attached, but it does take more time to attach them than it probably should. I don't think this would be a problem with the lower power binoculars because the gap between the lenses is greater on the lower-power binoculars.

This is a great addition to any tripod and binocular set up. I searched for a solid one that didn't break the bank. Works great for me as I don't always like to haul a spotting scope when I back pack. Keeps my 10x42 binos very secure.

This adapter is made of solid metal and thin enough to fit in between most, if not all, binoculars with an adapter connection. Compared to other cheaper adapters from [...] or other brands this has the best value/quality. Others are made of plastic, break, or are not solid enough to use for glassing or any other activity. Also, if you pay more for an adapter than you pay for this one you are overpaying.

Comments about Vortex Tripod Adapter (for Binoculars with a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket):

I use my Vortex Tripod Adapter to attach my high power Binoculars to my tripod. It gives a very steady view as I watch the many varieties of birds & wildlife out in our orchard.
The adapter is very well Made.
