The Slik AF-1100 Pistol Grip with Quick Release Ballhead is marketed by Slik as the "Digital Little Brother" of the popular AF-2100, is more compact and light-weight than it predecessor, making it a perfect fit for today's high end digital point and shoot cameras as well as the latest compact digital SLR's (e.g. Olympus C-8080, E-300, Canon PRO 1, Digital Rebel XT).
The Slik AF-1100 uses a patented design that allows the trigger handle to release tension on the ball when it is squeezed and lock the ball head in any position by simply releasing the trigger handle. This innovative action allows the camera to be pointed in almost any direction with ease, making a tripod mounted camera feel like more of an extension of the body.

Comments about Slik AF-1100E Pistol Grip Head w/Quick Release - Supports 6.5 lb (2.9 kg):
So wished I would have bought this Grip Head a long time ago. Easy to set up, use, and remove.
I was using a thingy for camcorder's, with too many levers.

Comments about Slik AF-1100E Pistol Grip Head w/Quick Release - Supports 6.5 lb (2.9 kg):
I was looking for an economically priced head to go with a Slik 500 DX Tripod. Primarily for nightime work but also for my Nikon 70-200mm. It supported the later lens well. The pistol grip works well. A bit unsure how it will hold up after lots of use and will it remain as stable as it is new out of the box but for now I couldn't be happier with it.

Comments about Slik AF-1100E Pistol Grip Head w/Quick Release - Supports 6.5 lb (2.9 kg):
I replaced my old ballhead with this one and use it for both my spotting scope and my camera. It is very light weight (great if you're lugging around a spotting scope) and it's so quick and smooth I don't know how I got along without it. I would surely recommend it to anyone. Great value for the money.

I use this product when shooting landscapes. I bought this product for use with the Slik Pro 634 CF tripod. This adds a swivel function and a Quick Release. The pistol grip will easily hold my D700 with extra battery pack and 70-200 VRII. The ability to swivel 360 degrees and at any angle make this product ideal for any stable tripod user.

The pistol grip is an intuitive way to move the camera. Good for panoramas or video. Includes level. Can use on tripod, monopod, or GorillaPod. I am using with a compact micro 4/3 Olympus Pen PL1 with a 300mm lens on a GorillaPod.

Comments about Slik AF-1100E Pistol Grip Head w/Quick Release - Supports 6.5 lb (2.9 kg):
I use this for my Nikon D90 with 70-300 lens attached, and it holds position quite well — better than the Slik 3 way pan/tilt head that originally was on the tripod. Easy and quick to use. Very minimal downward tilt at maximum length. No other negatives at this point. Heavier than the pan/tilt head but works better.
