Celestron's 25.0mm E-Lux eyepiece is an economical traditional Plossl optical design. It has fully coated lenses with an eyepiece cup to reduce stray light, and the internal threadings allow the use of 1.25" eyepiece filters.
A 1x power finderscope designed so you can point the telescope while scanning the sky with both eyes, the Celestron star pointer makes finding objects easy!
A mirror lens projects the image of a LED illuminated pinpoint into the line of sight, providing you with a red dot of light to center on the object you want to view. It is something like having a laser pointer that reaches into the sky, greatly simplifies finding objects.
The brightness level is adjustable, and the star pointer can be used during daytime observing as well. It is also a handy guide when using binoculars. Attaches to any telescope easily.
The visual back comes standard with most Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes of 5.0" to 8.0" diameters. It screws on to the rear threading to reduce the cavity to take accessories of 1.25", such as star diagonals and tele extenders.
A star diagonal, a term commonly associated with 90° mirror diagonals such as this, lets you view objects that are at a 90° angle from the direction the telescope is pointing. This allows comfortable viewing when the telescope is at or near the zenith(directly overhead).
Celestron's erect image diagonals are Amici prism designs, meaning that images are upright and laterally correct. This design, however, instead renders images which are laterally reversed-but are brighter than an erect image diagonal.&3160 When maxing out your magnification capacity given your telescope and seeing conditions, that bit of brightness is pretty important.
The Sky CD ROM # 93700.
Celestron and Software Bisque have teamed up to present a comprehensive CD-ROM called The Sky, Level 1 for Celestron.
A computerized sky map that features a 10,000 object database, 75 color images, horizontal projection, custom sky chart printing, and zoom capability. A fun, useful and educational product.
Windows PC format.
Celestron's been at the cutting edge of computerized telescope technology for more than twenty years, and they've now taken this further with the NexRemote telescope control software. It allows the user to control their Celestron computerized telescope from their personal computer, even remotely! This software was developed for Celestron's telescopes using the NexStar control system, including the NexStar "i" Series, Advanced Series, NexStar GPS Series and CGE Series units.
Note! CD-Rom ONLY; this does NOT include a NexRemote remote control.
The RS-232 serial cable connects into the Nexstar hand control or on some models, into the port on the drive base, and the other end connects into a computer. One end of the cable is a phone type jack, (RS-232) and the other end is a standard serial computer input.
With CD ROM software this cable will enable your computer laptop or desktop to interface and control the telescope by pointing and clicking on sky maps shown on the computer monitor. With certain telescopes the cable allows downloading additional data from the Celestron website into the database of the Nexstar computer hand control.
