The Tenba Shootout Backpack, Large (Black and Olive) is a padded weather-resistant Ripstop nylon backpack made to carry a two digital SLR seven lens camera outfit and a 17" laptop computer. It has a padded dividable main section for photo equipment and a removable padded, frame sheet reinforced laptop compartment for a laptop computer. There is a fully adjustable harness/belt system, a waist belt that features multiple clip-on points for pouches and accessories plus hand carrying straps on top of the pack and on both sides to let you "grab and go" from any position.
The Shootout backpack has padded side pockets that feature interior panels that can be moved to convert the space from cargo pocket to QuickAccess interior hatches. This allows fast, easy retrieval of a lens or accessory without having to fully remove or open the entire pack. There are interior clear, plasticized mesh pockets and web loops to hold accessories plus a Media Wallet and Phone/Music Pouch.
The backpack also features a MSTC (Multi-Stage Tripod Carrying) system which adjusts to securely and optimally carry tripods of varying sizes and styles. A fast deploying WeatherWrap auxiliary protection cover fully encloses the entire harness for hand carrying or storage.

This bag is big. You can fit a lot of equipment easily. The bag is well designed also. The only problem I have with this bag is that it is heavy. It' pretty heavy empty let alone loaded with gear. I travelled with this bag full of gear and laptop on a plane. Carried it on and it fit in the overheaed spaces easily. During the job I had to do a lot of walking with this bag. The shoulder straps were not very comfortable and it started to feel like they were digging in my shoulders. Great bag for travelling and transporting alot of gear but if you need to be mobile on your feet all day, get ready for the pain! More padding in the shoulders or making them a little wider would have helped.

The Bag is HUGE however the laptop compartment barely fits my 17 laptop. Almost like it was an after thought. The bag is more than deep enough in the camera section, it's just not configured for laptop use. For instance the zipper for the laptop sleeve barely opens wide enough to fit the machine in. The padded sleeve is not adjustable making it difficult to get the machine in and out. The machine in question is a Dell XPS M1730. Otherwise the bag was as solid as a rock. Great zippers, well made. I just need a bag with a little more attention in the computer dept.
Expertise: Certainly no pro, more than a weekend hack.
Problems Encountered: My only problem, as stated above, is with the size and configuration of the laptop compartment. I think instead of buying a camera bag with a laptop compartment, I need a laptop bag with room for a camera.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Large(Black and Olive):
Was looking for a bag that would easily fit my Canon DSLR, 3-4 lenses along with some peripherals such as view finder, chargers, card readers, etc. The fact that it also holds my 15" macbook pro was icing on the cake.
Down side is that it seems overly deep, and is really heavy. Very tight fit in an airline overhead.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Large(Black and Olive):
Finally a backpack that holds it all - comfortably. I can put a Canon 5diii with wide angle around my neck and carry a 7d attached to a 300 f2.8 (with ex 1.4 and hood installed) in the backpack with a 50 f1.2 in one front access pocket with a 17ts in the other. All of this with a tripod comfortably and securely attached - and load centered. This is a very heavy load, but I've carried it for miles, through woods and fields, and over fences. The load transfers well between shoulders and hips, although just barely. I'm 6' tall and ideally the hip belt should adjust for longer torsos. This is the reason for fewer than 5 stars.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Large(Black and Olive):
I shopped around for some time before I decided on this Shootout Backpack. I finally took the plunge and bought a 1D Mark III to go with my 7D and wanted a backpack that would hold both of them plus my lenses. I have my 70-200 F2.8 attached to my 1D Mark III and my 150-500 on the left side of that. I also carried a 100mm F2.8L Macro and a 40mm F2.8 lens and also fit my 580EX Flash in it. I has big compartments on the outside bottom that has room to carry the DC converter with the "battery" thing that goes with it for the 1D. 2 zippered areas inside and an adjustable spot for different sizes tripods on the back. I honestly can almost put more stuff in the backpack than I can carry. I would buy this again and I would recommend this to anyone looking for something to carry a lot of equipment. This bag is very, very big. My only complaint would be that I wish it would have been a different color, so that really doesn't come under complaints... I love the backpack.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Large(Black and Olive):
I like buying things just once. I had been looking for a backpack that would be big enough to carry my photo equipment and at the same time well insulated. When I went to the woods to photograph I would carry a small backpack on my back with my 300mm and others small lens, my binoculars on my neck, my 500mm on my waist and my tripod on my shoulder. What ever did not fit in my pack I would carry it in my vest. After seeing the Shootout and reading the customers reviews, I knew I had finally found what I needed. When I received the Shootout I had to put it to the test. All my equipment fitted perfectly with room left and well insulated. I use a AT413 Induro Tripod, it's the bigest Induro makes. I made leg wraps so you must know the legs are quite thick. The straps on the pack will not go around the three legs, so I only wrap two and secure it with the lower straps and that works great. Even my binoculars fit and now I can carry a first aid kit, just in case. I very much like the weather proof zippers. I know Tenba went above and beyond with the large Shootput backpack. I can walk for miles and not feel a thing due to the comfortable and adjustable harness. I know this backpack will be around for my grandkids to enjoy.

Great bag, just be aware of how big it is. The thing is huge. Gets heavy when you load it up, but it's definitely very comfortable and holds a lot of equipment. The highlight of this backpack is the build quality of the zippers, they seal up tight, great weather resistance. Love it, top of the line gear...can't be beat.

This is a big bag, great for all your gear. When you have all your gear and a laptop it can weigh quite a bit. The weather proof zippers are nice and the waterproof cover works great (I got hit with a storm my first outing with it, everything stayed dry) There is a lot going on with the pack, more than I know what to do with.

Read the description it does everything they claim and does it well! It's hard to tell from the photo, but it is big! It is lightweight and durable. But, it's like carrying a carry-on suitcase on your back. It's a great product with plenty of room for your gear ... or plenty of places for you to want to buy MORE gear just to fill the holes.

This is really a great backpack. It's large enough for all my photo gear including a tripod, yet it's very light and easy to carry. A lot of detail went into this bag. It even has weather proof zippers! I don't leave for a photo shoot without it!
