Rosco Cinegel #3441 Filter - Full Straw CTS - 20x24" Sheet
Cinegel filters are meticulously manufactured on a heat-resistant base polymer utilizing a patented deep-dyed technology for heat stability and superior color transmission.
On-line computerized colorimetry continuously monitors color and density against strict standards, thus assuring a reliable and consistent product.
STRAW RoscoStraw Daylight Conversion filters are a series of yellowish amber filters that lower color temperature as needed. Offered as a yellower version of the traditional CTO series and is calibrated to the same color correction and transmission properties.

When correcting a flash to tungsten, I typically use CTO filters, but I love the Rosco "straw" filters for warm sunlight effects. CTO in all its intensities looks a little too red/magenta for warm sunlight and produces pinkish skin tones. This and the 1/2 straw are always in my location lighting kit.

Trying to match flash output to warm CFLs is a pain, needing a combination of warming and plus green gels. I didn't like the results I was getting with CTOs: skin tones were too orange and trying to correct for that caused other problems. CTS passes more green than CTO, making for less orange skin tones and more effective compensation for the fluorescent green spike.

Brings my camera flash down to 3,300K color temp.
So either my flash isn't at 5,500K temp (maybe higher) or the spec is wrong, but to do dim tungsten lighting (2,700K-ish) it's not warm enough.
